Kefaluka Resort

The massive Kefaluka Resort occupies a scenic beachfront location. The towering, modern building complex features a white facade with wooden trim and details, while the lovely grounds are full of trim lawns, tall palms, colorful flower beds, and all sorts of shrubbery and trees. Pathways lead down to the beach, and there are lots of loungers, day beds, hammocks, and other seating peppered about the place. 

Interiors are marked by their cleanliness, featuring pleasant -- if a bit bland -- contemporary decor. Gleaming tile floors and white walls in the lobby are contrasted by a colorful mosaic floor feature that complements the artsy lighting fixture hanging above it. Banks of windows fill the space with light, while purple and white sofas and armchairs provide seating. The hotel's various restaurants and bars have a similar tasteful and inoffensive -- but uninspired -- look, offering plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

The animation team is a true asset to this resort, enhancing the atmosphere and keeping guests entertained throughout the day in a non-intrusive way -- past guests have raved about their friendliness and non-pushy nature. With its array of kid-friendly features, the property attracts plenty of families, though couples make up a large portion of the clientele as well. The Baia Bodrum Hotel is another great all-inclusive that couples might prefer for its slightly quieter vibe, though its beach is smaller and it doesn't have as many pools. 

The resort occupies a beachfront location on the Bodrum Peninsula, about a 20-minute drive south of the town of Turgutreis. The scenic location offers lovely views of the Akyarlar Bay, but there's not much in the immediate area, save for a couple of other hotels and resorts. The Turgutreis Marina can be reached in about 20 minutes by car, where guests can take ferries to the Greek islands of Kos and Kalymnos. Other attractions in town include a Saturday market that's popular with tourists. The city of Bodrum is around a 40-minute drive, while Bodrum International Airport is about an hour's drive from the hotel.

Rooms are spacious and sunlit, featuring pleasant contemporary decor that includes sleek wooden floors and complementary furniture. The spaces are predictable and nothing out of the ordinary decor-wise, but they're clean and tastefully made up. White walls contrast all of the wood furnishings, while colorful, patterned bedspreads and accent pillows add a bright touch. Large glass doors open onto private, furnished balconies that illuminate the spaces with lots of natural light, and offer lovely views over the pool, grounds, and sea. Only a few discounted rooms don't have views of the water. Several mirrors on the walls reflect the light and make the spaces feel even larger. 

Bathrooms are clean and simple, with shower/tub combos with rainfall showerheads and glass half-walls. Hairdryers, toiletries, and slippers are provided. All rooms are equipped with small flat-screen TVs, electric kettles with free tea and instant coffee, minibars, air-conditioning, electronic safes, and free Wi-Fi. Junior Suites have sitting areas, while Superior Suites and Prestige Suites have access to a shared private pool. Family Rooms and Interconnecting Rooms are also available.

The large main pool takes center stage on the resort's pretty, sprawling grounds. It's surrounded by a spacious sundeck and grassy lawns lined with loungers and umbrellas, while an island at its center accessed by small bridges offers a bar and shaded seating. There's also an activity pool for games and entertainment, plus a hydro-massage pool fitted with jets and a fountain. Kids are catered to with a water park complete with five slides, as well as two shallow kiddy pools. The hotel also has an attractive indoor pool that overlooks the outdoor pool. Guests can also relax on the hotel's private beach, which has sunbeds and umbrellas on the sand and on a wooden pier, as well as wooden cabanas with comfy seating and steps leading directly into the water. 

Kefalonya Restaurant is the resort's main, all-day, buffet-style dining option, offering international fare. There are several dinner-only restaurants, including Meyhane Restaurant, World Wide, Luna Piena, and Kebabi. There are also various snack options during the day, including Zuzu Snack, Agora Snack, an ice cream shop, and a pastry place. Room service is available. Bar options include the lobby lounge, a poolside bar, and a beach bar, and there are drinks available 24/7, while for nightlife, guests can head to the Moonlight Club, which has live music and DJs, or the disco. The generous all-inclusive plan covers just about everything.

The on-site spa offers various massages and other treatments, as well as saunas and a hammam. The hotel also has a fitness center, which is outfitted with a good selection of cardio and weight machines. Guests seeking an outdoor workout can use the tennis courts or soccer field. Other outdoor activities include archery and beach volleyball, as well as several water sports, like sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, water skiing, and catamaran cruises.

Families are well looked after here, with many kid-oriented amenities. Besides the kids' pools and water park, there is a kids' club (for ages 4 to 12) with indoor and outdoor play areas. There's also a teen's club for 13- to 16-year-olds. The hotel offers a myriad of entertainment features, including a cinema room, a shooting range, a game room with a pool table, foosball, darts, and more, plus the animation team keeps guests entertained throughout the day and night -- but are not pushy or intrusive. Other amenities include several meeting rooms, a hairdresser, jewelry shop, and internet room with computers. Laundry and babysitting service are available for a fee.
