Scene

A quiet, serene setting and sleek, minimalist interiors

Located on 15 acres of scenic parkland, the Westin Prince Toronto occupies a four-story building and high-rise tower dating to the 1970s. The setting is quiet and serene, offering a peaceful respite from the hectic city streets, and there are many walking paths leading from the hotel grounds. The vast lobby is sleek and minimalist, with beige-tile floors, black-panel accent walls, and leather armchairs clustered in seating areas. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of natural light, and potted plants add a touch of greenery. Business travelers make up most of the weekday clientele, while tourists take over on the weekend. The Westin offers packages with visits to the Toronto Zoo and Ontario Science Center, making it especially popular with families.

Rooms

Spacious, bright rooms and suites with traditional decor and modern amenities

Spacious and bright, the Westin Prince Toronto's 388 guest rooms and suites are traditionally styled. The color palette consists of earthy beiges and soft grays, which complement the warm tones of the furniture. A few framed photographic prints hang over the beds adding an artistic touch, while several lamps provide soft mood lighting. Overall, it's an inviting look, although a few details like leather ottomans are edging toward dated. All rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, digital music players, mini-fridges, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and irons and ironing boards. In-room Wi-Fi is free only for members of the Starwood Loyalty Program (SPG), though the program is free to join. Bathrooms are fitted with roomy walk-in showers, as well as shower/tub combos with rainfall showerheads, rectangular sinks, gray marble countertops, magnifying mirrors, hairdryers, and toiletries. Workout Rooms can be requested and come stocked with equipment like yoga mats or even a treadmill. Rooms on the higher floors have scenic city and park views, while Suites have seating areas with sofas and chairs and dining tables. They also include robes. The Penthouse Suite is the roomiest option and adds a fireplace and a huge balcony, although the decor here is the most dated of the bunch, with textiles that feel lifted from the '80s.

Features

Plenty of dining options, plus a lounge bar, fitness studio, swimming pool, and business center

Several features make the Westin Prince Toronto stand out, especially the many restaurants offering different types of cuisine. Guests have the choice of four on-site restaurants: Seasons at the Prince is open throughout the day and serves a menu of American cuisine, along with breakfast (not included in rates). The three other restaurants are Katsura Japanese restaurant, Jade Palace Chinese restaurant, and Gilaneh Persian Restaurant. There's also a cocktail bar, called 900 Lounge. The Westin brand is known for prioritizing health and fitness, and this outpost is no exception. The 24-hour fitness studio here is flooded with light, has a wide array of treadmills, strength and endurance machines, and free weights. There's an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, which are open in the summer, plus a lighted tennis court. Guests that forget their workout wear can borrow New Balance gear from the hotel for a small fee. This Westin is a popular wedding venue, with indoor and outdoor spaces available to rent, and 30,000 square feet of customizable space for meetings and events. A 24-hour business center has workstations and offers photocopying and other business services.
