Scene

Family-friendly with tropical atrium buzzing with activity

The action at this large hotel is centered on its expansive
lobby, where a classy and comfortable seating area greets guests. The space is set with brown leather couches and chairs with light wood tables and wall paneling. This
area leads to a front desk and elevator bank where pink marble tile and ceiling
mirrors create a bright and sophisticated environment. A third distinctly
different atmosphere appears in the large and open atrium, where skylights illuminate the pool area accented by tropical plants and lounge chairs. A
whirlpool, sauna room, fitness center, and game area with ping-pong and Nerf tennis court are adjacent. A large, cascading fountain overlooks the atrium, as
does the restaurant and bar, which is also accented with light wood and red leather chairs. This
is a busy place with lots of families as well as business travelers.

Location

Adjacent to one of Toronto’s largest shopping malls

The Holiday Inn Yorkdale is located in North York, a diverse and family-friendly neighborhood with lots of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Directly
across the street, about a five-minute walk, is Yorkdale Shopping Centre, one of
Toronto’s largest shopping centers with 250 stores, a movie theater, and several
restaurants. Many other restaurants are within a brief walk of the hotel as
well. The mall has a subway station that takes passengers downtown or to the
airport in about 30 minutes. From the hotel, driving time to the airport is
15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay extra to park at the hotel.

Rooms

Spacious rooms with chain-like decor, Keurig coffeemakers, and flat-screen TVs

The Holiday Inn Yorkdale has a variety of chain-like rooms, the best of which is the Regal Suite, with a dining table, living room, wet bar with stools, full refrigerator, and hardwood floors. The King Deluxe is spacious and functional; it’s decorated in various
earth-tone combinations of brown, green, and tan with light wood furniture,
multicolor striped drapes, and light brown carpet. An ample work desk and ergonomic chair is in one corner along with a table lamp and electric outlets. Roomy bathrooms are brightly lit with cream-colored walls and matching
granite vanities, plus shower/tub combos. King Executive bathrooms are the same size and layout but with more upscale
rose-colored marble tile floors, walls, and granite vanities. Its bedrooms are also decorated a bit differently with brown and blue patterned
carpets, gold drapes and walls, nicer wood furniture, and small tables paired with two
smartly upholstered chairs. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, free delivered daily newspapers, two
phones with voicemail, and free standard Internet. In-room Wi-Fi is available for a
fee.

Features

Atrium with pool, sauna, and entertainment area

There's also a game room set with a ping-pong table, Nerf tennis court, and billiards table. Cafe Monterey serves three meals a day, and kids eat free with their parents. There's a sushi bar and lounge that overlooks the atrium area and pool. The hotel offers a supervised area for children ages 3 to 12, with games and movies. The adjacent fitness center is large and nicely equipped with various cardio and weight machines and free weights.
