Casa Dell’Arte

Set in a lovely beachfront area in quiet Torba, the aptly named Casa Dell’Arte is a destination unto itself. Original paintings, sculptures and installations from the owner’s impressive private collection are displayed throughout, making the property a world-class gallery as well as the top luxury pick in the area. Walls are hung with large colorful artworks and photographs by famous Turkish artists, and every corner and nook, both indoors and outdoors, is decorated with wooden statuettes, original hand-picked antiques, and large stone busts. The overall style is ornate without feeling cluttered, and the neutral palette found throughout adds some balance. In the main lobby, large white couches hug a huge glass coffee table resting on large stone legs, while an eye-catching golden table with a green marble top gives the space a grand feel. 

The grounds are dotted with sleek lounge furniture, large red and white pillows on the grass, and umbrellas for shade. The vibe is tranquil and relaxed, and the beachfront area, complete with a bar and a pier with direct access to the sea, feels inviting and exclusive. 

The property is divided into two separate sections: an adult-only one (for guests 13 and over) and a family-friendly area. The former is known as The Residence, and features 12 individually decorated rooms with dozens of gorgeous pieces of art, as well as a quiet pool, a fine-dining restaurant, and an art gallery that all guests can visit for free. The Village allows kids of all ages, and offers 36 rooms, a kids’ club, a larger pool with a kiddy area, and a casual restaurant with beach views. Both sections are luxurious, but while The Residence oozes class and elegance, The Village has a more laid-back atmosphere.

The hotel is located on a lovely sandy beach in central Torba, a picturesque fishing village known for its seafood restaurants and pretty beaches. There are a handful of restaurants and bars nearby, but little else of interest within walking distance. While the area is better suited for those seeking some R&R, culture buffs can visit the ruins of a Byzantine monastery located a five-minute walk from the hotel. A 10-minute drive away is the town of Bodrum, which features a wide array of bars, restaurants, and shops, as well as wonderful historic attractions such as the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, Bodrum Castle, and the Myndos Gate. The nearest international airport is Milas–Bodrum, located about a half-hour away by car. 

The hotel has a total of 48 rooms divided into two main categories: Village and Residence, each housed in a separate building. Units in the family-friendly Village section are light and stylish, with a soft neutral palette that highlights the colorful works of art displayed on walls, and large windows opening onto either a furnished balcony or a small patio with garden views. Many also have living areas decorated with a chic blend of contemporary couches and chairs and antique-style wooden furniture with ornate carvings. Residence Rooms are located in the adult-only section of the hotel and are a step above in style and amenities compared to Village units. These rooms have been individually decorated with minimalist design in soft earth tones, and original paintings by renowned Turkish artists, including Nese Erdok, Komet, and Nuri Iyem. 

All rooms, regardless of their category, are equipped with free Wi-Fi, LCD TVs, L’Occitane toiletries, electronic safes, and minibars. Residence Rooms also feature Tempur-Pedic mattresses and espresso machines. Bathrooms are large and upscale in all units, with either large glass walk-in showers, or separate glass showers and deep soaking tubs. Some have double whirlpools in the bedroom. 

The hotel also has a three-bedroom, two-bathroom Villa, located adjacent to The Residence and complete with a professional kitchen, a living and dining area, and its own private patio.

The family-friendly Village features a kids’ club, a large seafront pool with a wading area for children, and a casual restaurant serving fresh fish and meat with sea views. The adult-only Residence section has its own long, skinny pool, and a fine-dining restaurant with a chic outdoor area and tasty Turkish cuisine. 

Additionally, the hotel features a spa with massages, a sauna, a steam room and a hammam, and a fitness center with several cardio and strength-training machines. Free group yoga and Pilates classes and morning walks along the bay are offered daily to all guests. The beach club is located adjacent to the hotel’s lovely stretch of sand, and offers waiter service, several dozen loungers, and a wooden pier with additional seating. Non-guests can access the beach club for a fee. The hotel also features two private yachts for overnight trips to other beaches in Turkey or the Greek islands. Each boat has five double en-suite rooms, a kitchen, and a common living area. 

The hotel is known among locals and visitors alike for its extensive art collection, which showcases over 200 pieces including paintings and sculptures by renowned artists.
