Overview

Pros
  • Large, panoramic glass balconies that look out over the sea

  • Rooms have modern bathrooms and large flat-screen TVs

  • Minibars are refilled daily with free treats (except alcohol)

  • Free truffle chocolates in the afternoon

  • Proximity to the White Tower and the Rotunda

  • Hearty American buffet breakfast served each morning (for a fee)

Cons
  • No pool, spa, or fitness center

  • Wi-fi is sometimes spotty

  • Room decor isn't as luxe as what some may expect at a high-end hotel

Bottom Line

An upscale hotel overlooking the Thermaikos gulf, Daios Luxury Living has 49 air-conditioned
rooms with minimalist design and ample space. Many rooms have sea views, and
the interior design of the property features large curved glass
ceilings and trendy open-plan spaces. Freebies include minibar treats and chocolates, and the location is conveniently near the White Tower and Rotunda. However, there isn’t a swimming pool or spa, so it may be worth comparing rates to the Excelsior
Hotel, a 10-minute walk away.

Scene

Glass staircases, glass balconies, and a feeling of open space characterize this hotel.

A modern property with numerous glass accents, the Daios Hotel highlights its location with balconies overlooking the water. Even they are glass-fronted, bringing the outside in, and allowing plenty of natural light to
flood through. The lobby has stainless-steel structural architecture, wooden
floors, gray velvet sofas, and modern, glass-fronted fireplaces. The bar
is chic with blue neon lights and a blue glass back-bar that lights up. This hotel largely attracts business travelers and older couples who appreciate the quiet, refined atmosphere and location -- and don't require extras like a gym, pool, or spa.

Location

On a busy seaside road along the harbor promenade

This hotel is within walking distance of numerous landmarks, shops, and restaurants. It is also conveniently located near the White Tower and Rotunda.

Rooms

Simple, attractive rooms with marble bathrooms

The
beds and pillows in the rooms are super high-quality with textured linens. Overall, they're not particularly spacious -- nor especially luxe in decor for a four-pearl property -- but they do have large flat-screen TVs and marble bathrooms with excellent water pressue. Many rooms have panoramic views of
Thermaikos gulf, the famed White Tower, and the harbour. Depending on which room
you pick, there are modern glass-fronted feature fireplaces and roomy seating
areas. Apples are a nice perk, as well as free chocolate truffles
in the afternoon.

Features

Tasty breakfast in the mornings, but no gym

Breakfast, with custom omelets and various pastries, is served daily. Twice-daily
maid service, room service, and numerous other optional services (for a fee) -- such as a personal chef, laundry service, in-room face
and body treatments, and even helicopter rental -- make this hotel an upscale option. There are two business rooms with room for up to 120 people, which are decked out with modern art and have plenty of natural light. However, there's no on-site gym or pool.
