The upper-mid-range Pakasai is one of Ao Nang's greenest properties and is set around lush gardens full of plants, flowers, fish ponds, and benches as well as an organic garden. Rooms here feature contemporary Thai furnishings and come with flat-screen TVs with satellite channels. The nicest rooms are the spacious Adora Rooms in the newer Executive Wing, which come with terraces featuring outdoor bathtubs. With a lovely rooftop infinity-edge pool, it's a great spot to escape busy Ao Nang, and while the resort is hidden up a side street, it is still within short walking distance of the town center. However, it's not on the beach and the nearest stretch of coast is rocky and not good for swimming.
Scene
Quiet, casual property popular with eco-travelers
It's all about green at the Pakasai Resort, a casual, relaxed property popular with ecologically minded leisure travelers. The gardens here are lush and filled with orchids and benches and have Wi-Fi access. There's also a restaurant next to a fish pond full of carp, a small organic spice garden, and an outdoor chill-out area with beanbag chairs. The most popular spot to hang out at is the large rooftop infinity pool, where there are nice views of lush greenery, plenty of lounge chairs, and a bar to order drinks.
Location
Ona quiet Ao Nang side street, convenient to shops and restaurants
The Pakasai Resort is located just off a side road off the main beach road that runs through Ao Nang. The center of Ao Nang, where there are plenty of drinking and dining options, along with shops, is a short walk away. From the town, guests can hire taxis, tuk-tuks, and even boats for exploring the island and its surrounding islets. The Krabi Airport is a half-hour drive away.
Rooms
Comfortable rooms with contemporary Thai decor, some with outdoor soaking tubs
The best rooms at the Pakasai are the big Adora Rooms in the new Executive Wing, which feature wide terraces with bathtub rain showers. Other categories of rooms are not quite as elegant, and the bathrooms in Superior Rooms look generic. These have a shower that's built right into the floor, covered only by a fabric curtain. All rooms come with contemporary Thai furnishings, kettles for making tea and coffee, minibars, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and free Wi-Fi. Additionally, each room provides beach baskets for taking gear to either the pool or outside down to the beach.
Features
Rooftop infinity swimming pool, kids' club, and quiet restaurant next to a fish pond
Along with the gardens, the Pakasai's most striking amenity is its rooftop infinity pool flanked with lounge chairs. There's also a charming restaurant -- the Tree Top Cafe -- which sits above a serene fish pond and is surrounded by gardens. The fitness center is small, and equipped with a set of free weights and a few cardio machines. There's also a little playground suitable for toddlers and smaller kids and a tiny indoor play area with toys for little ones. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
