It's mainly geared towards young travelers on a shoestring budget who are looking to get away from the hectic Haad Rin scene, where the island's legendary Full Moon Party is held. Scene
A budget beachfront hotel with a relaxed setting, popular with younger travelers
Lime n Soda is a happening budget resort, popular with young travelers who want to avoid Haad Rin's hectic Full Moon Party scene. The property has a wide range of leisure facilities on offer and is set along a narrow white-sand beach with shallow waters. Guests tend to mostly chill around the large beachfront swimming pool or beach bar during the day, as the beach itself doesn't have any lounge chairs. The beach volleyball court and table tables are also constantly buzzing with activity. The hotel's spacious grounds are lined with wide sandy walkways, palm trees, bamboo, and rustic thatched roof structures. In keeping with the hotel's theme, the interiors are decorated with white and green stylings, and even the welcome drinks served upon arrival are a lime and soda.
Location
On a quiet white-sand beach, a 10-minute walk from Thong Sala's buzzing port town
Lime n Soda Resort is set along a sleepy white-sand beach on the outskirts of downtown, a 10-minute walk from the island’s main port of Thong Sala. The immediate area doesn't offer many tourist attractions except the beach, though there are a few restaurants and shops just out front of the hotel. There is plenty more on offer in nearby Thong Sala, with a wide range of dining venues, local bars, shops, and spas. A popular attraction is the Phanthip Night Market, which is lined with colorful food stalls serving up a broad spectrum of Thailand's vibrant and often spicy cuisine. Haad Rin Beach, where the island’s famous Full Moon Parties are hosted, is located about a 30-minute drive from the hotel along steep and winding coastal roads. Other popular parties that happen at different spots on the island on a regular basis, are the Half Moon, Black Moon, and Jungle Experience parties -- all are reachable from the hotel within a 15-minute drive.
Rooms
Cramped and dated budget bungalows, with AC or fan-only options
Bungalows at Lime n Soda are little more than barebones crash pads geared towards travelers on a shoestring budget. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for, and though the rooms are great on the pocket, they are cramped, stuffy, and have highly dated interiors. The thatched roof concrete dwellings do have patio seating areas and some feature sea views. Furnishings include little more than a foam mattress set on a concrete platform, a small bamboo rack, and a couple of outdoor chairs. The Standard Bungalow with Fan Rooms don't include AC or hot water showers, and only have small and fairly ineffective wall fans. Higher-category rooms are outfitted with air-conditioners, TVs, and hot-water showers, but the amenities are quite rundown. None of the rooms have mini-fridges or safes. Bathrooms are cramped, dingy, and in need of serious updates. Spaces include just a standalone washbasin, a small mirror, and a basic shower -- but no divider or curtain to keep the entire bathroom from getting wet during showers.
