Eurolanta White Rock Resort is a small resort with 20 rooms near Khlong Nin, a beach about halfway down the west coast of Koh Lanta. The resort is not on the beach, but across the street from it. Rooms here come in the form of bungalows, with fine wood exteriors, although the insides show some wear. They all come with dated, flat-panel TVs as well as safes and mini-fridges being the only amenities; showers lack curtains. The resort has a swimming pool out back, a small open-air restaurant with a cooking school, and a bar, and staff can arrange all sorts of excursions and transportation around the island. The herb garden here is lovely, but the rest of the property feels dated, and the high season prices do not offer a solid value compared to similar nearby properties.
Scene
This green resort may feature an attractive herb and spices garden, but the common areas are dated.
Eurolanta isn't too much of a step beyond a backpacker resort; however, it does feature a nice garden area as well as a cooking school. The lobby is cluttered, and looks more like a spare room in someone's house than any kind of proper lobby; it certainly isn't a place to linger, but things get better in other common spaces. The bungalows line either side of a lush garden, and out front there are several thatched roof huts which house the bar and restaurant. There's also a lovely herb and spices garden, filled with potted plants and an assortment of fresh spices which the resort uses for both the restaurant and its cooking school classes.
Location
Located in Khlong Nin on the non-beach side of the main road, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby
Eurolanta White Rock Resort is located in Khlong Nin, a beach about halfway down Koh Lanta's west coast. While the resort is not on the beachfront, it is just across the street, with access to the sea available through the resort across the way. Khlong Nin is a small village, and there are many restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel. The main road from Saladan town and the ferry pier up north is paved and in fairly good condition; it is about a 20-minute drive to Khlong Nin from the pier. It's another 20 minutes or so from the resort to the national park at the southern end of the island.
Rooms
Rooms have old televisions, small safes, and mini-fridges, but they are very worn and basic.
There are only 20 rooms at the Eurolanta White Rock Resort, and most of them are shared duplex bungalows, with two rooms in each bungalow as well as a shared porch divided by a wooden partition. The Garden rooms are on one side and considered the entry-level digs, while the slightly classier Deluxe rooms are on the other. Neither offer too may amenities. There are basic flat-panel TVs, along with small safes, and mini-fridges, but that's about it. The Deluxe rooms have a few extra chairs inside, and rooms do have a small desk for working at, but the decor is pretty plain. Each bathroom comes with only a tiny bar of soap and mini containers of soap and shampoo, plus a few cotton buds and toilet paper; showers lack curtains. There is closet space, but it's fairly grotty and unattractive. Rooms do come with free Wi-Fi and breakfast, though. There is also a two-bedroom Thai teak house here for families and groups, but it is particularly rundown. It has a kitchen area, however, plus three rooms, along with a huge porch space.
Features
Quiet but rundown swimming pool, nice herb garden, and open-air restaurant and bar out front
Eurolanta White Rock Resort is a small place with few extra facilities. There is a quiet swimming pool located in the far back of the resort, although the sun loungers and umbrellas back here are very worn, and the area doesn't look too well-kept, with the exception of the bright sunflowers growing in the yard. The resort has a small restaurant and bar out in the front by the main road, both are open-air. The restaurant offers a cooking school as well, and the resort's well-tended herb garden is found here, with loads of spices and vegetables planted in pots around the garden. There are no other facilities at the resort, although the staff does offer car and motorbike rental, arranges tours and treks around the island, and sells onward tickets and transportation from the office.
