The 79 guest rooms range from villas to bungalows and feature fresh decor, along with flat-screen TVs, minibars, private balconies, and free Wi-Fi -- some units have hot tubs and plunge pools. There's a free buffet breakfast each morning as well as a full restaurant and two bars. Most of the areas are built to enjoy a sea view, including the swimming pool, some of the spa, and the fitness center. Travelers purely on the island for a party should consider Phangan Bayshore Resort which is located right on Sunrise Beach, though it comes with fewer features.
Scene
Typical beachfront resort with modern and green-inspired interiors
Cocuhut Village Beach Resort & Spa is a typical beachfront resort, with a large pool area right on the beach surrounded with palm trees and many open air relaxation areas. The lobby is small with wooden floors and a wooden world map on the wall behind a colorful wood-slated reception desk. A few seating areas provide space to relax. The restaurant is a large, modern area with floor-to-ceiling windows bringing in natural light, wooden floors, wooden table and chairs, several potted plants, fairy lights, and framed inspirational quotes. For a more Thai experience, there's a section where guests can sit on cushions on the floor while dining. There are also a few chilled out areas with artificial grass and bird nest chairs; plus a billiards table. Cocohut Spa is housed in a clay hut and decorated with traditional decor and trinkets, with various sized treatment rooms available -- including beachfront massage rooms. Its location is prime for guests coming to Ko Pha Ngan for the monthly Full Moon parties, though still wanting a haven to get away from the chaotic madness around the beach. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed -- though it can get quite busy during Full Moon party time.
Location
Beachfront location on the quieter side of Ko Pha Ngan
Cocohut Village Beach Resort & Spa is located on a semi-private section of Leela Beach, about a 10-minute walk from Haad Rin village. For those on the island for the famous Full Moon party, the Sunrise Beach (where the party happens) is also about a 10-minute walk away -- close enough for easy access, while far away enough for some peace and quiet away from the body-painted crowds. The much quieter Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) is an eight-minute walk away. Farther up the coast, Than Sadet Waterfall National Park and the Pantip Food Market are a 30-minute drive away. Ferries to Koh Samui Airport are available from the Haad Rin Pier, a 10-minute walk from the resort. The hotel offers a free pick up service on arrival at Haad Rin Pier.
