The Ao Nang Princeville isn't the fanciest spot in town, but its location in the heart of Ao Nang and right across from the beach is excellent. The rooms, while a bit dated, are spacious, quiet, and have large bathrooms. There is a small swimming pool and only one small restaurant, where a free breakfast is served. The hotel is halal, and thus there is no bar, making it less than ideal for those wanting to do a lot of drinking and partying.
Scene
Casual, halal budget resort popular with Malaysian travelers
The scene here is casual and there's not much partying going on. As the hotel only has a small pool, most guests opt to head to the nearby beach and swim in the Andaman Sea, although the small kids' pool is a nice touch for families. The hotel is halal and seems to serve large numbers of Malaysian clients; there is no bar and, consequently no party scene. Other than a few shaded tables on the deck by the pool, the only real hangout spot is the small restaurant.
Location
Optimal location in central Ao Nang right across from the beach near drinking and dining
The Aonang Princeville Resort is centrally located right at the junction of the beach road and the main road that leads up through town. The resort is just across the street from the beach and near lots of dining, drinking, and shopping options. It's well positioned near public transportation and it's easy to get taxis and long-tail boats out to Railay Beach, as well as other nearby island excursions, from right outside the hotel.
Rooms
Dated but spacious rooms and bathrooms with plenty of quiet
The rooms here are dated, with old furniture and dim interiors. However, they are spacious, and even the bathrooms are large. Attractive wood carvings and Asian decor accents add some charm, even if the wood furniture is showing nicks. All rooms have big flat-screen TVs with cable channels and small balconies. Wi-Fi is free and reliable, and although the area is noisy due to nearby traffic, the rooms are well insulated and, consequently, quiet.
Features
Small swimming pool and kids' pool, small spa, and halal-certified restaurant
The facilities at the Aonang Princeville Resort are minimal, and include a small swimming pool with a kids' section. The resort has no gym, and its spa is tiny, although it offers massages and other relaxing treatments. The resort has a small halal-certified restaurant where a free included breakfast is served. There's naturally no bar, so guests who want to imbibe will need to go off the grounds to find spots to party.
