The Aonang Paradise is a value property with a quiet ambience despite being just off the main road that leads into town. The 34 rooms here are basic but bright and cheery. There's also a giant villa that was the home of one of the past owners and is large enough for groups or families. Property features include a small swimming pool with dramatic cliff views, a tiny fitness center, a massage room for Thai massages, and a little restaurant.
Scene
Subdued and quiet with a peaceful pool under the cliffs and a lily pond
The scene at this small resort is subdued. The swimming pool and bar/restaurant are next to a large lily pond with impressive views of the Krabi Cliffs. The lobby is bright and modern with vivid walls painted in a color that's something between mustard and olive green and black leather sofas. Behind the hotel is a large green field that adds a jungle ambience to the place.
Location
Quiet locaiton near the cliffs but convenient to shopping and dining in Ao Nang
Despite its lack of an adjacent beach, the Aonang Paradise has a good location. The resort is right on the main road that runs through Ao Nang, a 10-minute walk from beach. It sits right next to a large lily pond near towering Krabi cliffs, but is just off a main road lined with multiple restaurants, bars, and shops. There are plenty of taxis and tuk-tuks in the area. The Krabi Airport is a half-hour drive away.
Rooms
Small, basic, but cheery rooms plus the spacious Paradise Villa for groups
The rooms at the Aonang Paradise Resort are a mixed bag, although all have cheery and bright decor and come with mini-fridges, air-conditioning, safes, satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi. Superior Rooms are some of the tiniest in town and though they have large windows, their garden location means that they lack views. The Deluxe Cliff View Rooms are far better and have big glass sliding doors that look out on the fabulous Krabi Cliffs. The two-story Paradise Villa is ideal for groups and has three bedrooms that can sleep up to eight guests. Each room in this modern home has a flat-screen TV and a DVD player and the spacious villa comes with a kitchen and decks.
Features
Swimming pool with cliff views, small gym, massage room, and on-site restaurant with free breakfast
The small resort's prettiest feature is its orange-bottomed paradise pool, which sits under the towering Krabi Cliffs and next to an immense lily pond. The rest of the resort's features pale in comparison, although the fitness center, while small and limited to a couple of machines and free weights, is a nice feature not always found in this category of hotel. There's also a small massage room where up to three people can get Thai massages. The Sea of Love Bar and Restaurant sits right by the pool, and is at its busiest when the included breakfast is served and again during happy hour.
