Sitting atop a hill overlooking Lake Marble Falls and surrounded by lots of foliage, this budget hotel is quite scenic. The four-story hotel opened in 2008 and offers a bit more than the typical La Quinta chain property. There are picnic tables and a gazebo overlooking the lake, plus all rooms are oriented toward the water, making the views the most impressive feature of this hotel. Features are limited to an outdoor pool and indoor hot tub, but clientele are still an even mix of families and couples. The earth-toned design throughout is traditional and comfortable. The lobby has a stone fireplace, leather armchairs, a charming water fountain, and tapestries with Italian countryside scenes. A few furnishings are generic and dated, but everything is well-maintained.

This tranquil hotel in the Texas Hill Country is less than a five-minute drive to the Marble Falls town center, where there are several shops and restaurants. Blue Bonnet Cafe, well-known for its delicious pies, is a three-minute drive over the bridge (or 20-minute walk) away. Visitors can pick their own strawberries and taste homemade ice cream at Sweet Berry Farm, a 10-minute drive away. Lake Marble Falls is just across the road from the hotel, and nearby Buchanan Lake (a 30-minute drive away) is also a nice spot for boating and fishing. Austin is just over an hour away by car and San Antonio is about two hours. Free parking is available on-site.
