Food receives mixed reviews
Laguna Park 1 is a budget all-inclusive property located within walking distance of the beach and area bars. The hotel has 181 studios and one-bedroom apartments, all featuring fully equipped kitchenettes, sofa beds, and balconies, some with ocean views. Units are clean and spacious, but lack air-conditioning and have dated decor. Additionally, there are fees for both in-room Wi-Fi (it’s free in public spaces) and satellite TV. The pool is large and appealing, with lots of loungers, a kiddy section, and a snack bar with outdoor seating. There's also a restaurant serving international food, though it receives mixed reviews. A seasonal kids’ club and daily entertainment program round out the features. Hovima Panorama offers a similar experience, but the pool at Laguna Park 1 is larger.
Scene
Simple but cheerful, with a large pool deck and relaxing vibe
The Laguna Park 1 ticks all the boxes for a relaxing, budget-friendly break in the sun, including a large pool deck, activities for all ages, and a central location within walking distance of the beach. The hotel is housed in several long, low structures built around a large pool deck, which offers plenty of space for relaxing and socializing. Although there aren’t many grass areas, the tiled deck features lots of loungers and umbrellas, and the hotel’s two bars have outdoor terraces with shaded areas. Interiors, however, are simple and somewhat dated, especially the lobby's long built-in bench with worn turquoise vinyl cushions. The reception area does have sleek marble floors, but the low ceilings and small windows make it dark and unappealing. While the hotel has all-inclusive packages, many past guests have reported poor food quality. Still, it is particularly popular with families, but couples also seem to enjoy the low-key vibe.
Location
On a busy street near pubs, shops, and Torviscas Beach
The property is located between a busy street leading to the marina, and the TF-1 highway, which connects southern Tenerife to the capital Santa Cruz. The area is full of hotels and vacation homes, and there are plenty of bars and small shops nearby. The lively area around Espana and Colon avenues, where guests can find dozens of other dining and shopping options, starts just down the street. This location is also convenient for beachgoers, as there are three lovely stretches of sand within walking distance of the hotel, including family-friendly Torviscas Beach, known for its calm waters and many services. The hotel provides free shuttle service to Playa de Las Americas, where guests can find another sandy beach, as well as many restaurants and bars. Aqualand Costa Adeje water park is right across the highway from the hotel, and famous Siam Park is less than a five-minute drive away. Laguna Park 1 is located a 15-minute drive from Tenerife Sur Airport.
Rooms
Spacious apartments with simple decor, kitchenettes, and balconies
The hotel has 177 one-bedroom apartments and four studios, all featuring furnished balconies with either partial ocean or pool views. Decor is simple and a tad drab, featuring thin brown bedspreads, and plain furniture that ranges from pine wood couches with old-fashioned upholstery, to more contemporary IKEA-like tables. Pastel blue walls and a couple of wicker accents add some style, but furnishings for the most part are uninspired. All units have kitchenettes equipped with two-burner stovetops, mini-fridges, microwaves, ovens, kettles, toasters, and a few utensils for cooking basic meals. Flat-screen TVs, safes, and sofa beds are available in every unit, but there are fees for satellite TV channels and Wi-Fi, and apartments lack air-conditioning. Bathrooms are clean but average, outfitted in beige tile, and including shower/tub combos with plastic curtains. The hotel does not provide toiletries.
Features
Most activity centers around the large pool complex
The hotel's crowning feature is its large pool deck with a pleasant freeform pool and a smaller shallow one for kids. There are usually plenty of loungers and umbrellas around the pools, and they're chained up in the evenings until the next morning to prevent early queues for spots. The deck also offers access to two bars, including one serving cocktails in a large gazebo by the pool, and a snack bar serving fast food, ice cream, and drinks. Larger meals are served in the restaurant, which offers a breakfast buffet and standard buffet fare for dinner. Though all-inclusive packages are available, many past guests have reported that the poor food quality and variety isn't worth the cost.A seasonal kids’ club is a perk for those traveling with children in the summer, and there are also a small play area, a game room with arcade machines, pool and ping pong tables, and daily entertainment available year-round. The hotel also features free Wi-Fi in public spaces, and a laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers.
