The 120-room Hotel Villa de Adeje Beach is an all-inclusive property geared towards travelers on a budget. Two outdoor pools -- one heated and one large enough for laps -- are nice amenities, but other features including the buffet restaurant and fitness center are quite basic. Apartments and Studios are spacious but no-frills with patterned bedspreads and functional furniture. The location within walking distance of beaches is convenient, and there are lots of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby but this dated, basic property charges extra fees for everything from Wi-Fi to the in-room safe to the coin-operated TVs.
Scene
A small, basic, all-inclusive hotel with decent amenities -- but showing some age
Hotel Villa de Adeje Beach is your typical affordable all-inclusive hotel in Costa Adeje: It’s not stylish or modern, but offers a number of decent amenities for families and couples, including two pools, a kids' pool, entertainment, and a buffet restaurant. The property offers Studios and One-Bedroom Apartments with balconies and kitchenettes -- but as is the case with many other value hotels in the area, decor is basic and dated, and in-room amenities are in need of an upgrade. The modern mirrored entrance façade contrasts with the lobby which, despite being bright and pleasant, features somewhat uninspired and old-fashioned decor. Still, the Villa de Adeje Beach offers decent rates year-round, which makes it an average pick for travelers on a budget. Fair warning: beware of additional fees (for Wi-Fi, for use of the in-room safe, for use of padding for poolside loungers, for some TV channels) that add up fast.
Location
Within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and shops
The hotel is located on a four-lane boulevard right off Tenerife’s main highway. Even though it is a little farther away from the beach than most hotels in Costa Adeje, it is only a 10-minute walk away from a couple of great stretches of sand. The area is full of restaurants, bars, and shops, and the main drag in this part of town is right outside the property. Puerto Colón and Playa Torviscas are both about 10 minutes from the property, and most other beaches in the region can be reached by bus. There is a bus stop a few feet away from the main entrance. Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos are both a 10- to 15-minute drive away. The airport can be reached in under 15 minutes by car, and in about 40 minutes by bus.
Rooms
Spacious studios and one-bedroom apartments with basic decor, kitchenettes, and balconies
The hotel offers 120 studios and one-bedroom apartments, all featuring fully equipped kitchenettes with a small bar and stools. Units here are spacious and bright, with large sliding windows opening onto a small balcony furnished with plastic chairs, and plenty of space to move around. Rooms are kept spotless, but decor is basic and bland with thin, patterned bedspreads and simple wooden furniture. Green and yellow accent walls add some color to the otherwise dated rooms, but the overall style is nevertheless just average for a value property. In-room amenities are also basic and in need of an update -- coin-operated tube TVs, electronic safes (for a fee), and kitchen utensils is all there is. Apartments have a sofa bed in the living area for two extra guests, and studios feature a folding bed for a kid. Wi-Fi is available for a fee, and toiletries are not provided.
Features
Two pools, a buffet restaurant, daily entertainment, a fitness center, and a laundry room
Hotel Villa de Adeje Beach features a large deck with two pools. The smallest one is heated, has a separate section for kids, and is where fitness and entertainment activities take place. The large one can be chilly and few kids venture in, so it’s a little bit more relaxing. Loungers are available free of charge, but there is an extra fee for use of umbrellas and padding for the chairs. There is also a pool bar with snacks (don’t expect many healthy options here) and outdoor seating. The fitness center is small and basic, but average for a hotel in this price range and equipped with cardio and strength-training machines. A small, somewhat unappealing room houses a whirlpool and a sauna, and there is a laundry room for guest use.The main restaurant serves a decent buffet for all three meals, but it can get a little bit repetitive after a couple of days. Few guests seem to enjoy the daily entertainment. There is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi.
