Bottom Line

This Be Live is a mid-range chain hotel located within walking distance of a couple of great beaches. With a solid buffet restaurant; spacious rooms that can sleep up to four guests (except Promo Rooms, which have a maximum capacity of two adults); three pleasant pools; a small spa; and several kid-friendly amenities, the hotel offers good value for families. But room decor is a little uninspired, and there are several extra fees that can be annoying, including for Wi-Fi and for use of the in-room safe.

Scene

A mid-range all-inclusive popular with families and couples

From the outside, with its striking glass façade and large pool deck, the hotel looks fairly upscale and modern. Common spaces are, indeed, mostly attractive and well kept, especially the pool and the lobby, which features a dramatic staircase leading to a second lobby area, and an eye-catching glass ceiling that lets in lots of natural light. Rooms, however, can be a little bit of a letdown. They feature basic decor and amenities, and are somewhat dated for an advertised four-star hotel. Still, with a spa, three pools (including one for kids), all-inclusive meal plans, and a convenient location near several beaches, this property is a decent pick for a relaxing vacation.

Location

Blocks from beaches, restaurants, bars and shops

The hotel is located in central Adeje, on the corner of a quiet residential street and an avenue lined with restaurants, bars and shops. Down the street are two great beaches, Puerto Colón and Fañabé, the latter being the largest stretch of dark sand in this part of the island. There is another shopping and dining strip and a bus stop an eight-minute walk away. Playa del Duque, Los Cristianos, Las Américas and La Caleta beaches can all be reached in under five minutes by car. Those who prefer to use public transportation can take a bus to all of the area’s main beaches. Tenerife Sur Airport can be reached by car in 15 minutes, and by bus in under an hour.

Rooms

Spacious and bright -- but a little basic

The hotel’s 226 rooms are all spacious, with large windows that let in lots of natural light, and at least a small terrace with plastic furniture. Most rooms have generic contemporary art above the bed but little else on walls, and decor is generally a little underwhelming, with basic wooden furniture and few stylish details. Amenities are decent but also basic, and include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and mini-fridges. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combos (there are jetted tubs in Junior Suites) and an array of hotel-brand toiletries. All but Promo Rooms can sleep up to four guests, which makes this property a good pick for families. Wi-Fi and in-room safes are both available for a fee, and some rooms have ocean views.

Features

Three pools, a kids’ club, a solid buffet restaurant, a spa, and a fitness center

Unlike at many all-inclusive properties, the buffet restaurant at Be Live Experience La Niña is often praised for its wide selection of food and tasty options. The spa, while average, offers a hydrotherapy area and body treatments, and the fitness center features a decent array of machines in a spacious room. There are two large outdoor pools with lots of loungers, as well as a kiddy pool and a bar offering drinks and snacks poolside. The kids’ club offers daily activities and a mini-disco, and the game room features pool and foosball tables. Just note the multiple extra fees: for Wi-Fi, indoor parking, and use of the in-room safe. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby.
