Bottom Line

The two-and-a-half-pearl Hampton Inn & Suites Temecula is
a solid choice for long-term business travelers, winery visitors, and those passing
through the Inland Empire. Located just off Interstate 15, it’s convenient to
Old Town Temecula and area wineries, restaurants, and shopping. There are 138 rooms with various configurations (including Suites with whirlpool hot tubs), but the bathrooms are a bit disappointing, and the busy highways and roads that surround this property can create noise. Amenities include free parking, breakfast, Wi-Fi, and an outdoor pool. While competitively priced, there are other comparable, similarly priced hotels in
the immediate area, such as the
Holiday Inn Express Temecula.

Scene

Comfortable, affordable hotel for business travelers and wine tourists

The Hampton Inn is a comfortable hotel frequented by business travelers and couples on wine-tasting adventures. The light sandstone and stucco exterior yields to a darker, rich interior with dark-brown wood floors and a front desk, light-brown walls, deep-red drapes, and dark patterned rugs. A sitting area adjacent
to the front desk has black leather chairs next to a gas fireplace and a large framed
print of wine bottles, reflecting the area’s winemaking tradition. The
breakfast room is on the other side of a double-faced fireplace. It features long,
high wood tables with six high-back, black leather upholstered wooden chairs on
each side. Two large, modern chandeliers suspended from the second floor hang
above.

Location

In the heart of the Inland Empire, near Old Town Temecula and the I-15

This Hampton is in the heart of San Bernardino County’s
Inland Empire, just off the Interstate 15 in Temecula. Nearby international
airports and their approximate drive times include Palm Springs (85 minutes),
San Diego (85 minutes), San Bernardino (60 minutes), LA/Ontario (80 minutes), and Los Angeles (two hours). Old Town Temecula is a 12-minute walk, and the Promenade shopping center and its restaurants are a
six-minute drive. The Pechanga Casino, golf courses, and many of the dozens are
wineries located in the Temecula Wine Valley are within approximately a
10- to 15-minute drive from the hotel. There are also a few restaurants within a
three- to five-minute walk of the hotel, and several more can be reached in a
few minutes of driving.

Rooms

Clean and comfortable rooms and suites, some with gas fireplaces or whirlpool hot tubs

Standard Rooms come in king and two-queen configurations, and there are
several Suite options, including some with gas fireplaces or roomy, marble- and tile-framed whirlpool tubs right in the rooms.
Suites also have wet bars and sofa beds. All rooms are big and clean, with comfortable beds. Decor is dark yet tasteful,
with ruby-red walls and drapes, black-wood headboards, black-and-white
patterned carpets, red chairs, and black ottomans. Even the microwaves and
mini-fridges are black, and each room has an office chair in black leather. Room amenities include 37-inch flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and work desks. Bathrooms are bland compared to the rooms, with gray-and-white marble tile, and have wooden vanities, large wall mirrors, and shower/tub combos. Guests report some noise from nearby highways and adjacent rooms, but it’s not excessive.

Features

Free on-site parking, Wi-Fi, and hot breakfast, plus outdoor pool and fitness center

Freebies at the Hampton Inn include outdoor lot parking and hotel-wide Wi-Fi, and a hot breakfast is included in
room rates. During weekdays, a free breakfast bag is available for guests on
the go. The fitness center is spacious, with several cardio and weight-training machines plus a rack of free weights. The pool area is a surprisingly secluded, spacious area with a high wall and large palm trees framing it; there's a whirlpool adjacent to the swimming pool. A snack and gift shop has a wide variety of snacks, drinks, and
sundries, and there's a 24-hour business center
with two computer stations and free printing. There's also a meeting space for up to 50 people, and the hotel provides newspapers free of charge. Another on-site feature are the self-serve coin-operated laundry facilities, and valet laundry and dry cleaning can be arranged.
