Location
Walking distance to the gondola and downtown Telluride
Telluride was once one of Colorado's best kept secrets -- not only for a beautiful location -- but for world-class skiing as well. Located in a box canyon, Telluride is enclosed by tall cliffs on three sides, with iconic Bridal Veil Falls (visible from Colorado Avenue) at the far end of the canyon. The town of Telluride connects with Mountain Village (the true base of the ski runs) by a gondola that is free in the summer, and costs a fee in the winter.Resting in the San Juan mountain range in the southwest corner of the state, Telluride can be hard to get to. Located over 300 miles from any major city, it is out of the question to drive from Denver International Airport or Salt Lake City, but luckily Telluride has a regional airport. Travelers can also fly into relatively nearby to Montrose and take the hour and half shuttle ride to town. The Hotel Telluride is a quick walk to downtown Telluride, and just an eight-minute walk to the gondola that services the ski slopes. Located in a residential area of Telluride, the hotel is quiet and somewhat isolated, but still a close walk to bars, restaurants, and entertainment.- 15-minute drive from Telluride Regional Airport

A fitness center and free in-town shuttle, but no pool or true spa
While many of the hotels and lodges in Telluride and the Mountain Village are equipped with great amenities, the Hotel Telluride offers a smaller, more intimate experience. That being said, the hotel does offer a few appealing features, including a fitness center with modern cardio machines and free weights. There are two outdoor hot tubs just outside the fitness center, but they are not built into the ground. In addition to these above-ground hot tubs, the hotel also offers two treatment rooms, which they label as a spa, and a steamroom. However, there is no pool or ski rental service on-site.- Two outdoor, above ground hot tubs
All-Inclusive / Food
Open seasonally, the Nook serves breakfast and dinner
The aptly named Nook restaurant offers a cozy space for a great breakfast buffet spread, when they aren't closed for the shoulder season. Even though the buffet isn't included in the room price, it is worth the cost to fuel up for a day of skiing or biking -- especially with the made-to-order omelet bar. The Nook doesn't serve lunch, but they do open again for the apres-ski scene and dinner.- American-style, homemade cuisine served for breakfast and dinner
