Chic boutique with modern black-and-white decor and geometric touches
The Savoy may be closer to the beach than town, but it feels more like a city hotel thanks to its sophisticated style and black-and-white decor. The hotel was rebuilt in 2007, but underwent its most recent rounds of renovations in 2017. It’s a small space that can feel even smaller inside. From the street, the hotel is small tower building with uniquely designed balconies that look as though each boxy balcony was rotated 45 degrees. Inside, the hotel’s modern design kicks off with a white geometric reception desk and chic public lobby lounge where artsy black chairs are placed at long, wooden tables. Murals of dunes stretch along the walls, and glimpses of a narrow courtyard garden with flowers can be seen through the large glass windows. Around the corner from the lobby, the hotel’s all-day snack area feels almost futuristic thanks to the slick all-white countertops and cabinet and bright lighting. Both business and leisure travelers celebrate its style and features.

The Savoy is conveniently located on a small side street off the city's beachfront row. It's a few minutes' walk from Guela and Jerusalem Beaches, and about a 10-minute walk to the hustle and bustle off Ben Yehuda Street's restaurants, bars, and shops. To reach the beach, guests will have to cross Retsif Herbert Samuel Street, a busy thoroughfare.
Rooms
Stylish, but small, rooms with small balconies and whirlpool tubs in Deluxe categories
The Savoy has 55 small rooms that continue the hotel’s modern style, and black-and-white color scheme. Oak-colored wood laminate floors pair with thick black-and-white striped wallpaper. Large, low contrast black-and-white canvas prints of flowers function as headboards. All rooms feature a bar-sized mini-fridge, tea and coffee facilities, free bottled water on arrival, a laptop-sized safe, flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi. Standard Singles are small, and best for short stays. Standard Doubles aren’t much bigger, but are made for double occupancy with either two twin beds or a queen-size bed. These rooms may have tiny corner balconies without a view. Deluxe Studios have two balconies with city views, and the added perks of a Nespresso machine and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. These rooms also have a wet bar kitchenette area with a larger mini-fridge, microwave, and dinner settings for two. Deluxe Suites with Sea Views snag spots on the top floor and have a separate living room area, larger bedroom, and balcony with stunning sea views. All Deluxe category rooms also get newspapers delivered to the room daily, and come with bathrobes and slippers.
Bathrooms are stylish with circular bowl sinks on top of floating black countertops, making the older shower/tub combos stand out in Standard Rooms. All rooms come with luxe Sea of Spa Dead Sea toiletries, small wall-mounted hairdryers, and big, circular vanity mirrors. The rooms are spotless, and during our visit we noticed an obvious leftover bleach odor from the cleaners.

The Savoy has few features but some nice freebies. In the lobby, guests can grab free, unlimited pastries, fresh fruit, soft drinks, and coffee drinks. There’s also a sunset happy hour up on the hotel’s small lounge off the stairs, just before exiting to the roof deck. Outside of happy hour, this area is set up as a lounge space with a TV, laptop for guest use, and an honor bar with bottled drinks. The rooftop deck is small, but relaxing, and set up with folding canvas chairs and wicker furniture facing the horizon. Guests can enjoy sea views, though they are partially blocked by neighboring buildings.
The breakfast buffet costs extra and consists of eggs, pastries, bread, and fruits. Bikes with baskets and beach towels are free from reception. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. There isn't any parking available here.
