Green World Hotel Zhonghua

True to its name, this mid-range hotel does in fact offer a step inside a green world. Peppy and vibrant hues dominate, along with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The lime green lobby pairs the bright hue with wooden panelling and details. Cityscape silhouettes adorn some of the walls, while decorative miniature hot air balloons strung up here and there add a whimsical touch. Even the color-coded hallways (turquoise, orange, and others hues) are cheery, and are also festooned with the metropolitan and hot air balloon silhouettes.

The hotel's high-ceilinged restaurant tones it down a notch with the bright shades, instead featuring whites and light woods, but it pairs them with fun Crayola-colored chairs that pop against the neutrals. Cityscapes and hot air balloons feature here too, with a fun illuminated mural gracing one of the walls.

The hotel occupies a sleek glass-fronted building that's home to several other businesses, including a 7-Eleven convenience store and the Just Sleep hotel. The lobby is situated on the 13th floor of the space. It attracts a range of tourists and business travelers, many hailing from Hong Kong.

It's a convenient location in Ximending, one of the city's most popular spots that's full of shopping, dining, and entertainment. There are several nearby pedestrian streets that are lined with boutiques, shops, restaurants, cafes, and food stalls. The Ximen subway station is a three-minute walk away, making navigating around the city easy. Taipei Main Station is a 13-minute walk from the hotel. Taipei 101 skyscraper and Shilin Night Market can be reached in about 15 minutes by car (or around 40 to 50 minutes via public transportation). Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is around a 30- to 45-minute drive from the hotel, or about an hour by public transit.

There are a couple of different room categories, the most basic of which are Standard Double Rooms without windows. Other categories include Superior, Exquisite, Deluxe, and Family Rooms. All rooms are infused with bright pops of color just like the common spaces throughout the property. Floors are color-coded, with hues including yellows, sky blues, lime greens, and cheery oranges. Colorful accent walls pop against white walls and bedding, while other brightly hued accents include nightstands, doors, and ceiling details. The spaces feature a clean and simple contemporary aesthetic, with sleek and compact furnishings that make the most out of fairly small spaces. Larger rooms offer seating space. Higher-floor rooms have nice views over the surroundings, while City View Rooms even have large windows in the bathrooms that offer city vistas.

All rooms feature work desks, flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, mini-fridges stocked with bottled water, electronic safes, telephones, and free Wi-Fi. There's not much storage space though, with just a luggage rack and a couple of hangers on an exposed rail offering space for clothes. Bathrooms offer shower/tub combos, Toto toilets, and wall-mounted hairdryers, plus toiletries are provided. Bathrooms garner the most complaints here because the tubs/showers flood easily. 

This modest hotel offers a handful of amenities that add convenience to a stay. The most popular is the free breakfast buffet served daily in the hotel's airy dining space. Choices include toast, fruit, salad, and espresso. There's no full restaurant or bar though. The hotel also has a tiny fitness room that's equipped with a treadmill, stationary bike, and a workout bench. Other features include coin-operated laundry facilities and a business center that offers a computer, plus there's a meeting room available. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
