Rydges North Sydney is a 167-room three-pearl hotel located in a quiet neighborhood of office buildings. Accommodations range from contemporary rooms with park or water views to two-bedroom suites complete with kitchenettes and balconies. Rydges caters primarily to corporate travelers, and there's a range of meeting rooms available, along with free Wi-Fi. There's also an on-site restaurant and a bar (though the restaurant is open only on weekdays) and an extensive (and expensive) buffet breakfast with hot and cold items and fresh juice. The hotel, however, lacks a pool and a fitness center. Guests might also want to check out the Sydney Boulevard Hotel, which also has good conference facilities, along with an extensive fitness center.
Scene
Modern business hotel popular with corporate travelers and conference attendees
The Rydges North Sydney is a towering property surrounded by lush vegetation, including a few palms. The front desk area is a little less inspiring, with gaudy patterned sofas and a mix of gray generic carpeting and checkerboard tile floors. The on-site bar and restaurant follows the same color scheme but has slightly more contemporary furniture that gives it a fun, cheery vibe. The rooms are pretty by comparison, but overall the hotel could use a refresh, or at least some updated furniture. Most of the guests are business travelers, many of whom come to the hotel for on-site conferences and meetings.
