Scene

More stylish than the average chain hotel

The hotel facade has maintained
elements of its Victorian style architecture from its birth in the early 1900’s
and stands proudly on the corner of a grungy side street in its trendy
Darlinghurst location. This is an area rife with buzzing media offices, hip
buskers, and the occasional suited-up city slicker. The hotel
lobby is plain and purpose built with a large reception counter and elevator access
to the rooms. The hotel's apartment-style accommodation lends itself to a range of travelers from corporate overnight stays to extended trips with family or friends. Bar Stellar, the on-site cafe and bar, has an eclectic mix of
furnishings: from church pew benches, metallic gold painted tables, and African
inspired artwork.

Location

A sought after postcode, with views of Hyde Park from some rooms

Smack bang in the center of all things
Sydney: from a 10-minute walk to Chinatown's restaurants, a seven-minute taxi
to the Sydney Opera House, a five-minute taxi to the night life of Kings Cross,
and a 15-minute walk to shopping in Pitt Street Mall. Guests are adjacent to Hyde Park, a place popular for foodie festivals and manicured gardens. Museum station is the
closest train line, a five-minute walk from the hotel. To soak up some culture
the Australian Museum is a five-minute walk and sits opposite the grandeur of
St Mary’s Cathedral. For a late
night trendy tipple a few doors down from the hotel, the Soda Factory is a
secret snazzy bar, entered via a hot dog shop front through a fridge
door.

Rooms

Neutral, neat and thoughtfully kitted out

The apartment-style accommodation is
pleasant and kitted out with a bunch of handy facilities to make hotel
living homey. Each Studio Apartment features a kitchenette including a toaster, fridge, and microwave. For larger groups or an extended stay the more
expensive Apartment Suites come equipped with a full kitchen and combined
lounge and dinning space. Decor throughout all hotel rooms is clean and modern
with neutral beige walls, glass tiled kitchen backsplashes, and charcoal carpet.
Bathrooms are generous in size, hairdryers are available and some showers
include two shower heads for those that want to double-up. A stocked mini-bar,
free Wi-Fi, and satellite TV channels, as well as late night room service add up for a comfortable stay.

Features

Well-equipped for short or long term city stays

The upper-middle-range Best Western Plus Hotel
Stellar ticks a lot of boxes to accommodate guest needs. The Stellar Bar and
Cafe is a handy spot to grab a bite and make use of the hotels jump-on computers and printing facilities. The Green Light
Lounge serves a hot style buffet breakfast for a fee and 24-hour business
facilities are available on-site. There's coin-operated guest laundry and the hotel operates a free
shuttle service to some of Sydney’s main attractions. Limited parking is available for a fee.
