Desert Pearl Inn

The lobby at the Desert Pearl Inn is small but pleasant, with warm wood furnishings, stone floors, a small fireplace, and a large, bright reception desk with cold fruit water for guests and information on the surrounding area. Armchairs and sofas are arranged nearby, with colorful pillows and rugs to brighten the space, and a public computer and printer are also available for guest use. The entrance to the gift and coffee shop is nearby, as well as doors leading to the guest rooms and outdoor pool area. Most walkways are outdoors, which offer a beautiful backdrop -- the high cliffs from Zion National Park are visible from most rooms, and a peaceful grassy lawn leads to a gorgeous river with small beaches.

Centrally located on a quiet section of the main street in Springfield, this hotel is very convenient to nearby restaurants, shops, and activities, but still feels removed and peaceful. Guests can walk out the front of the property and be a short walk away from most things in town, but behind the hotel are the beautiful sandstone cliffs of Zion and the small, tranquil beaches on the Virgin River. The property itself is beautifully landscaped, with gardens and green space surrounding it. Zion National Park is only a five-minute drive away, and the National Park Service shuttle stops right at the property, giving guests free transportation to and from the park.

Decorated with warm wood and shades of aqua, blue, green, and bright white, the guest rooms at the Desert Pearl Inn are large, clean, and modern, and feel more like spacious studio apartments than traditional hotel rooms. Wood floors, exposed, knotted wood beams, and local artwork lend a mountain vibe. Travelers can choose between two queen beds or one king bed, and both room types include a pull-out sofa bed, a private balcony or terrace, generously sized kitchenette with refrigerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker, wet bar, and microwave, separate dining and sitting areas, and free Wi-Fi. All rooms look out onto either the hotel’s pool or the nearby Virgin River, and include private outdoor entrances. While there are no suites on the property, all of the rooms are large enough to sleep four to six people comfortably and would work well for families or larger groups.

As a boutique hotel, the property does not include quite as many features as some larger chain hotels. However, the amenities available are thoughtful and convenient, and the location and scenic area add value for all types of travelers. A large gift shop and coffee shop serving Starbucks coffee are located near the front of the property and include artwork and souvenirs made by local artisans, as well as travel necessities. The large outdoor saltwater pool and whirlpool offer incredible views of the mountains, and guest laundry facilities are available and housed in a separate building from the guest rooms. A public computer and printer are available in the lobby, and indoor and outdoor seating is plentiful around the property. A shuttle is also available to bring guests to nearby Zion National Park.
