A solid, modern tourist hotel, the three-and-a-half pearl Virgilio Grand is not especially upscale, but it does offer a wide array of facilities and clean and functional rooms with flat-screen TVs. The indoor wellness center has a full-service spa in addition to a sauna, a steam room, and a hot tub. The free breakfast is ample, and the restaurant serves good Mediterranean fare. Wi-Fi is free, but there's a fee for both parking and beach access.

This mid-range property on the Latina coast has plenty to recommend it: principally, stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and direct access to a beautiful sandy beach. It's a good value considering the beachfront location, though its decor is not as fancy as at pricier nearby hotels and it lacks features such as a pool and full on-site restaurant. Still, rooms are clean and functional if not stylish, the lush garden terrace is charming, and the property has been family-run for over 60 years.

Because of the relatively quiet location, this property attracts older travelers, many in organized groups, as well as families who enjoy the proximity to Sorrento combined with the slight remove from the bustle of its downtown streets. The hotel enjoys spectacular views of the Bay of Naples, situated near a scattering of average dining options just north of Sorrento. There aren’t a plethora of activities on-site: The hotel lacks a pool, and guests have remarked that the adjacent piece of beach, which is accessible for a fee, isn’t attractive. However, the bay views and romantic position of the hotel, coupled with what many claim to be exceptionally gracious service, attracts repeat visitors.
