The exterior architecture of the PARKROYAL on Pickering is modern and avant-garde: The lower section of the building is made up of stacked slabs of concrete, a design inspired by terraced rice fields, and above this sits a multi-storied glass towers supported by tall concrete pillars. The facade is covered with "sky gardens" -- large terraces of plants and shade trees --  as well as green walls covered in creepers and elevated garden walk-ways, creating an urban jungle feel. The impressive entrance to the hotel is light and airy, courtesy of tall ceilings and windows, and full of green plants paired with hardwood floors and attractive wood-paneled walls.
