The Peranakan (local Chinese) heritage theme is evident throughout the hotel, evoking an Old World ambience. The hotel's facade incorporates a row of shop houses that date from the 1920s, which typify the heritage of the area. The elegant lobby lounge impresses with its high ceilings, chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows, patterned carpets, brown and turquoise upholstered armchairs arranged in cozy seating areas, and ornate screens that divide up the space. Square-and-diamond patterned tile floors add to the sense of elegance.
