Not right in the CBD
This Four Points outpost is a large three-and-a-half-pearl property with a good location on the riverfront. It's opposite shopping and dining on Robertson Quay and a short walk from Clarke Quay. Though set just out of the CBD, buses and river taxis are on hand to get you around. The 476 rooms and suites have a bright, classic style and smart bathrooms, with family-friendly rooms and suites available for those who need a little more space. There are several business spaces, an outdoor pool, and a gym with a steam room, so the hotel appeals to a wide cross-section of travelers. Four restaurants cater for the desires of most guests as well. It's worth comparing prices with nearby Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium for similar facilities, though it lacks riverfront views.
Scene
Large, modern hotel with a relaxed, riverside vibe
An imposing skyscraper, the Riverview Hotel sits beside other hotels of a similar kind along the river. It was taken over and renovated by Sheraton in summer 2016. The large, stylish lobby area is a central point, with a large sculpture of a ship carved from jade and a beautiful glass bubble elevator soaring between the sleek pillars to rooms and restaurants above. Upstairs, the chilled-out bar area has sofa seating and views over the river, and the buffet-restaurant has a more formal dining-room style. On higher floors, the traditional Japanese restaurant has a chic style, with dark wood furniture, while the authentic Chinese Restaurant is full of warm red and gold tones. The location beside the river gives the hotel, and the outdoor dining spaces in particular, a soothing, relaxed feel. Guests tend to be a mix of business travelers and mature couples looking for a little sanctuary that's not too far from the busy city center.
Location
Located on the river, a five-minute walk to Robertson Quay for shopping and dining
Riverview Hotel is located on the Singapore River, directly opposite Robertson Quay. It's a five-minute drive into downtown Singapore and a 20-minute drive along the coast road to the airport. There's a pedestrian bridge behind the hotel across to Robertson Quay for shopping and dining, and it's about a 10-minute walk to Clarke Quay. A bus stop outside the hotel links with both in about 15 minutes. For routes to the business district and downtown, it's a five-minute walk to the bus stop outside the Grand Copthorne, with a journey time of 15 to 20 minutes. There are also river taxis that run into town and back. Top shopping destination Orchard Road can be easily reached in 15-minutes on the bus from outside the hotel, or in around 10-minutes in the car. Fort Canning Park and the museum district is also a 15-minute trip on the bus. Attractions on Sentosa are a 30-minute drive away, or about an hour via the bus from the stop opposite the hotel.
Rooms
Modern rooms with a classic finish and smart bathrooms, most with views of the river
Rooms have a simple, modern style, with most featuring views of the Singapore River. Keep in mind that, like most other Singapore hotels, the layouts in most will be compact. They're decorated in muted gray and white tones, with bright artwork bringing some color into the spaces, plus window seats to take in the views in many rooms. Suites have separate living rooms with sofas and small table, and family-friendly rooms have two connecting bedrooms. Premium Rooms offer larger desks. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, mini-fridges, irons and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Bathrooms are well-finished with pale tiles and contemporary white fittings, including counter-top sinks and stall showers. Some rooms and all suites have shower/tub combos. Hairdryers and slippers come standard.

There are several meeting spaces, including a ballroom with a capacity up to 320, and an outdoor terrace. Leisure facilities include a pretty pool deck with loungers and cabanas, plus a small 24-hour gym with cardio and free weights, as well as a steam room.
