While the free shuttle to San Francisco International Airport is convenient, there are pesky fees for Wi-Fi and some leisure travelers might wish they were closer to the action of San Francisco, a 30-minute drive away.

The Grand Bay Hotel San Francisco is not within walking distance (or some would say, easy driving distance) of local attractions, making it a more appealing option for business travelers than leisure travelers. Located in between San Mateo and Redwood City off Highway 101, the only things nearby are a few decent shopping centers and multiple restaurants in the corporate bay area, a 5-minute drive from the hotel.
The San Mateo/Redwood City area is part of the San Francisco Bay area and is located a 30-minute drive away from San Francisco. Similar to other areas in Silicon Valley, these cities aren't major tourist attractions, but rather offer close proximity to local corporate headquarters. The area doesn't have much to offer on its own, but Palo Alto, a redwood park, and San Francisco are all nearby. Palo Alto is home to Stanford University's beautiful campus and is only a 20-minute drive away.
