The upscale hotel is located on a quiet and somewhat secluded island off of the coast of Sarasota and appeals to families and couples looking for a low-key beachfront getaway. Scene

Elegant upscale resort with spacious apartment-style rooms and panoramic water views

The five-story, upscale Hyatt Residence Club Sarasota, Siesta Key Beach is part of the Hyatt Residence Club. Outside, the relatively small, heated swimming pool overlooks the beach and features lounge chairs and cabanas with TVs. There’s a hot tub in a corner nestled next to a waterfall rock wall. Fire pits are also set up with umbrellas and yellow-cushioned furniture and s’mores kits are available for purchase in the lobby.Inside, the lobby is designed with elegant, spa-like decor, blue mosaic artwork, bamboo trees, area rugs, and comfortable seating. The lobby is also home to a bar, where sandwiches are served at lunch. The hotel is rather quiet -- a place that families go to experience a little rest and relaxation on the beach. The condo-style rooms with full-size kitchens with updated appliances are a great fit for parents who prefer to dine in with the little ones.

Location

Located on the beach on a quiet, somewhat secluded island in Sarasota

The resort is located on quiet Siesta Key, a barrier island off of Sarasota directly on the beach surrounded by other hotels. There is no on-site restaurant, but Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar and Clayton’s Siesta Grille are both a five-minute walk away for casual seafood dining options. Both a Publix supermarket and Walgreens drug store are a five-minute drive on Tamiami Trail. A point of interest in the area is Lido Key, the winter home of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus since 1927. It is about a 25-minute drive and also has a town center with quaint shops, restaurants, and a museum.

Rooms

Large condo units with fully equipped kitchens and amazing bathrooms

The resort offers clean, spacious condo units, and some have incredible water views. Units have updated tile floors, modern furniture and cabinetry, and a color palette of muted earth tones; pops of color are found in beach-inspired art and throw pillows. The high-tech features include iHome stereos and massive mounted flat-screen TVs with Blu-Ray players. The full-size kitchen -- which is fully stocked with cooking utensils and tableware -- includes high-end appliances such as a six-burner Wolf range, SubZero refrigerator, and Keurig coffeemaker. The star of the units might be the bathrooms, which are large and beautifully designed with sleek granite counters, modern vanities, heated toilets, and both a standing shower (with a rainfall showerheads) and soaking tub. Patio furniture can be found on the balcony, but there is no lighting there due to turtle nesting laws.

Features

Lovely resort with the great amenities, but no full-service restaurant

The resort features many amenities, including a spa with a steam room and specialty treatments, as well as a fitness center equipped with weights, fitness balls, and standard cardio machines. There is no restaurant on-site, although a light continental breakfast is served on the terrace and Cabana Cantina by the pool offers light bites and drinks in the afternoon. At the beach, staff sets out yellow umbrellas every morning for guests. The swimming pool overlooks the water and there are private cabanas with TVs available. Fire pits with seating and hammocks are also available outside. There’s a business center with computers for guest use.
