Pros
- Right on a private beach
- Spacious rooms with balconies
- Large outdoor adult and children’s pools
- Sports facilities, including tennis and beach volleyball courts
- Fun entertainment program
- Free parking
- Free Wi-Fi in common areas
Bottom Line
With its own beach and plenty of entertainment and sports facilities, the Hotel Club Eloro, on Sicily's southern coast, is well-suited for budget travelers who simply want a spot to relax, swim, and sunbathe. Downsides include spotty Wi-Fi that's only available in common areas, and in-room fridges and safes requiring an extra fee. But, for a spot close to prime sandy beaches, with access to surrounding towns and plenty of on-site activities, the hotel is a solid choice. The beach and surrounding natural beauty are the real reasons to be here.

Scene
Older, beachfront hotel
The facade of the Hotel Club Eloro has the look of a boxy sandcastle set on the shores of the blue waters beyond, and, inside, there is an overall pleasant atmosphere. With its many activities and facilities for both adults and kids, the hotel is popular with European families, and the beach can be quite crowded. Its more secluded location in the rugged southern region of Sicily also attracts hikers and outdoor-loving groups and couples.
Location
On the beach on Sicily's southern coast, a 30-minute drive from Syracuse
The Hotel Club Eloro sits on a picturesque stretch of private beach outside Noto, a small city about 30 minutes southwest of Syracuse. There’s not much around except the rugged hills and other hotels and bed and breakfasts, but travelers with a car can visit some of the surrounding cities, including Ragusa, which is an hour away, and Taormina, which is an hour-and-a-half drive away. The hotel is also a popular home base for hikers looking to explore the surrounding area. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is an hour away by car.
Rooms
Spacious and clean, but basic
The 250 air-conditioned rooms, including Family Rooms with bunk beds, are fairly spacious and clean, but very barebones. There are small balconies, but no room for actually sitting on them. Medium-sized bathrooms have curtained shower/tub combinations or just showers, and a small ledge for toiletries, but not much storage space. Fridges and safes need to be rented in reception.
Features
Private beach, large pool, and on-site restaurant
The main draw at the Hotel Club Eloro is its private beach, filled with sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as a snack bar and children’s play area. There are also large rectangular outdoor pools for adults and children. The hotel’s on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and a dinner buffet with plenty of seafood. Cocktails are available at the terrace piano bar. There are plenty of sports facilities, including beach volleyball and tennis courts, and a soccer field. Parking is free. Wi-Fi is only available in common areas, and is spotty at best.
