Scene
Simple hotel with touches of Mediterranean decor
The Hotel Alberi Del Paradiso is a simple hotel located a 15-minute walk from Cefalu on a quiet road. The stucco exterior is reminiscent of an apartment building complex and is not particularly attractive, but interiors are warm and welcoming. Floor-to-ceiling windows from the bright lobby look out onto mature gardens full of olive trees. The lobby and bar are simple but elegant with stone work and tiling that nods to the area's Greek influence.
Location
One kilometer from the Sicilian tourist town of Cefalu
Hotel Alberi Del Paradiso is located in a quiet, suburban area about a 15-minute walk from the edge of Cefalu’s urban area (and 30 minutes to the center of town). The hotel is next to a local hospital. Cefalu can be accessed via train from Palermo; the trip takes about an hour. While public transportation does not run to the hotel, a transfer can be arranged with prior notice, and a hotel shuttle runs downtown (as well as to a nearby beach) several times a day.
Rooms
Rooms vary greatly in terms of size and decor; smaller rooms are basic with country accents
Guests have noted that the smallest rooms are on the basic side and that ones near the reception receive unwanted noise; room service, while available, may be a surprise to the staff. Smaller rooms have stall showers and tile floors and are furnished with basic wood commodes and desks; larger rooms are considerably more attractive in decor, and are outfitted with light wood floors, new porcelain fixtures, and whirlpool tubs. Some larger rooms have glass in place of the bathroom door, and may therefore lack privacy. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, many have balconies.
Features
An attractive swimming pool, a spa, and a restaurant
The in-house restaurant receives generally favorable reviews from visitors. In summer, breakfast is served on an attractive back patio. Multiple guests have commented on the poor quality of the coffee, but have also remarked favorably on the fresh orange juice machine. There is an outdoor pool underneath trees on the grounds, a small modern spa, and a tiny fitness center with a handful of exercise machines.
