This small bed and breakfast with four guest rooms is located on the beautiful beach of Punta Secca, a tiny fishing village that's a popular summer destination. The decor of the hotel and rooms is a bit old-fashioned, but this is offset by fantastic views and the property's close proximity to the beach. Scene

Old-fashioned decor with spectacular views

This charming bed and breakfast is a small, quaint beachside retreat. The three-story white house with green doors and shutters is recognizable to many Italians: It was used on the Italian TV show Inspector Montalbano, so tourists will often come by to take pictures or try to come inside. The front lobby, refurbished after our visit, is spacious and comfortable, with dark red tiled floors, white couches, and dark wood furniture, leading to a balcony where guests can sit and take in the beautiful sandy beach. The house has a calm, quiet atmosphere as there aren't many guests. However, the square the property is located on can get loud at night as it’s a popular gathering area.

Location

On the beach in a small fishing village

The Montalbano is located in the small town of Punta Secca, a fishing village that has a resurgence of tourists every summer. The B&B is situated on a square among other hotels, shops, and residences and offers direct access to the beach. The town has several supermarkets, restaurants, and bars, so there are plenty of places to grab a bite or have a drink.

Rooms

Basic double rooms with private bathrooms

Guest rooms are located on the top two floors and are spacious and clean with simple decor. Red tiled floors, white walls, and wood trimmings create a homey atmosphere. Some of the furniture even consists of personal items from the family who owns the B&B. Each room comes with a double bed, dresser, small armoire, mini-fridge, small TV, and air-conditioning. During winter months, the property is heated by central air. Window size varies, but some have fantastic views of the beach. Private bathrooms include a shower, bidet, hairdryer, and free toiletries.

Features

Free continental breakfast, balcony with views of the water, and access to public beach

Every morning, the hotel serves a free continental breakfast. Guests can eat in the living room or bring their food out onto the back balcony. The gorgeous public beach right behind the house has soft sand and crystal clear water. Guests are also provided with two beach chairs and an umbrella on a per room basis.
