The cozy hotel is well maintained and has a simple and casual vibe. It's a good choice for couples looking for a beach vacation, but its lack of child-focused facilities and amenities means families may want to look elsewhere. In keeping with its barren surroundings, the all-white building is dotted with what look like portholes at the top. Inside, it's stylishly decorated in shades of white, sand, and blue, with seashells and starfish in frames and placed out on shelves. The lobby has small woven pod chairs and shabby-chic wooden benches. The rooftop breakfast room is simple, with small, white cafe tables, birdcage light fixtures, and a stunning view of the water from the covered deck.

Aquamarina is located on the road that leads to the fishing village of Donnalucata, which is right on the beach. The village has a few restaurants, a pizzeria, and a well-regarded gelateria. There is a rocky beach in front of the hotel and a sandy beach is only a two-minute walk away. It’s a 20-minute drive to Sicli, 35 minutes to Ragusa, and about 75 minutes to Siracusa. It’s an hour and 40 minutes from the Catania Fontanarossa Airport.

The 22 air-conditioned rooms have the same simple decor as the rest of the hotel. Rooms have white walls and linens and sand-colored tile floors as well as low-key, homestyle furniture that makes them feel less like hotel rooms and more like someone's chic beach house. Some rooms have beautiful sea views, and all come with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and safes. The bathrooms have bidets, luxury toiletries, and mirrors that are stylishly surrounded or bordered by rustic driftwood. The stall-style showers are on the narrow side; showers in superior rooms have rainshower heads.
