Situated directly on on a pebbly sand beach, there are beautiful views everywhere you turn at this property. The sprawling resort (complete with lovely gardens) does feel isolated, however, as there is nothing within walking distance. There is plenty to do for both families and couples, though, including highlights like two pools and on-site tennis and volleyball courts. Rooms are clean but somewhat dated.
Scene
Tranquil gardens and neutral decor set the tone for a relaxing experience.
This large, sprawling resort has every inch covered by lush gardens with colorful flowers, high hedges, and exotic palm trees. The large, modern building is even covered so that it blends in with the surroundings. Guests enter into a front lobby with light, glossy floors, sleek furniture, and expansive windows. The spa and serene landscape provide a relaxing atmosphere, but the resort attracts plenty of families as well as couples.
Location
Isolated beachside location within 20-minute drive to Cefalu and Termini Imerse
Situated right on the beach in the small town of Buonfornello, the resort has amazing seaside views. It is isolated, with only other hotels and residences within walking distance, but it is right next to the main highways (E90, A20, and CS113) so it is very easy to get to nearby areas. It is a one-hour drive to the Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO), and is halfway between Cefalu (17-minute drive) and Termin Imerese (20-minute drive), both of which are popular vacation destinations.
Rooms
Comfortable rooms with balconies
Rooms are spacious and clean with simple decor. The beds have fabric headboards and comfy linens and pillows. Each room has glass countertops, mirrored closets, a mini-fridge, safe and TV; some TVs are small and placed on the desk instead of mounted to the wall. There also aren't any drawers, so storage space is limited. All the rooms come with private balconies, overlooking the sea in the distance or the gardens -- it is worth paying extra for a sea view, as you can see the nearby railroad and highways from some garden view rooms. The decor is the same in all the rooms, except for the standard rooms, which are less luxurious, and darker due to being on the ground floor. They also have a patio instead of a balcony. Bathrooms are small but modern with sleek appliances.
Features
Beautiful spa, two pools, and a private beach
The gorgeous spa with panoramic views from the rooftop garden, the pools, and the beautiful, grassy solarium area are highlights. There is also a large fitness center that offers various classes, such as yoga and spinning. However, cardio machines are limited. The main pool is a huge, glamorous lagoon-style with small islands with palm trees dispersed throughout. The private beach has tons of lounge chairs and is just a short walk from the pool, but unfortunately, it is very rocky, making it difficult to walk on the sand. Kids can partake in activities at the Mini Club or Junior Club for teenagers. There is a huge restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating that offers buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a pool bar for a smaller bite. Guests can enjoy a cocktail at the indoor bar while listening to live music played on the grand piano.
