The 302-room Sea Club Aqua Park is geared toward families seeking an upscale, all-inclusive vacation with nearby beach access and poolside fun. The property has a water park with multiple slides and a wave pool, and guests can drink and dine at three restaurants and three bars -- including one that's open 24 hours. The spa, spacious gym, and discotheque appeal to younger couples and vacationing friends. Guest rooms are bright and modern with balconies or terraces; Family rooms are available. However, it’s a long trek, or a short shuttle ride, to the sands. The Laguna Vista Beach Resort, with closer beach access, may be a good alternative.
Scene
Sprawling family-friendly resort with a colorful water park and late-night bar crowd
Despite being a bit of a trek from the beach, the Sea Club Aqua Park has a laid-back, tropical seaside feeling. The property tends to draw families, with its sprawling outdoor dining terraces, and water park filled with colorful slides and a wave pool. The property's terra cotta-hued buildings sit atop bright green lawns dotted with palm trees and Egyptian pottery, and laced with brick pathways, lit at night by small lanterns. An arched footbridge crosses the main pool, where the clay-stone deck is lined with blue-and-white-striped loungers and woven umbrellas. The water park area is filled with colorful slides, including a bright-blue elephant slide, and there's a giant clown statue on the deck for the kids.
Otherwise, decor is pretty simple and lacks any real style. The lobby bar extends to an outdoor terrace, with basic wood tables and chairs shaded by red and yellow umbrellas, and a carved pagoda-style bar at the center. The main restaurant is bright and breezy, with cream marble floors, cream walls with wood trim, and wooden tables and chairs with dark-striped cushions. The 24-hour Terrace Bar can get a bit noisy, with music playing until late at night, which does offer a nice balance for those who come to the resort without children.
Location
About a half-mile from the beach in Nabq Bay
Located a bit inland of Nabq Bay’s shores, the Sea Club Aqua Park is about a half-mile walk to a private beach and pier at sister property Sea Life -- a free beach shuttle travels every 30 minutes, though it stops at night. Fast-food restaurants and the Hard Rock Cafe are about a 10 minutes' drive away, as are the shops and dining options at SOHO Square. Naama Bay is a 20-minute car trip, and diving at Blue Hole is about one hour and 30 minutes away. The airport is about a 10 minutes' drive.
Rooms
Contemporary, clean rooms with flat-screen TVs and balconies or terraces
Warm wood furniture, beige floor tiles, woven rugs, and pops of turquoise decor fill all rooms. The resort offers Duo, Standard, and Family Rooms, as well as Family Suites. Bathrooms have modern fixtures, gilded touches, bidets, and showers with rainfall showerheads. Standard features include flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges with bottled water, safes, air-conditioning, tea/coffee facilities, and bathrobes and slippers. All rooms have casually furnished balconies or terraces facing the pool and/or gardens. Family rooms each have a warmly lit living room -- separate by wooden doors -- with marble-topped wood tables, a comfy sofa, another bed, and a second flat-screen TV. Two-bedroom Family Suites are available, too.
Features
Typical all-inclusive features, plus a water park and a beach with snorkeling
The resort has a main pool, children's pool, and Aqua Park with slides, a wave pool, and lazy lake. The spa has treatment rooms, a whirlpool tub, sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, and beauty salon. Large, pool-facing windows allow natural light into the spacious gym.
Guests have three dining options, including the Aqua Park Restaurant -- all-inclusive, with buffet and casual international cuisine a la carte. The Italian Restaurant serves set-menu dinners, and the Main Restaurant serves themed buffet dinners. A 24-hour Terrace Bar, Pool Bar, and Aqua Park bar are also available, and a bikini disco is held by the pool. The kids’ club offers supervised activities and a small grassy playground. There are also an oversized chessboard by the pool, diving center, tennis court, and sandy volleyball court. A small boardwalk area has a spray-paint artist, scooter rentals, and a jewelry kiosk. Two clothing stores are also on the property.
