This chain hotel's location allows for an easy walk to Seville’s historic center, and it's conveniently away from the hustle and bustle due to its location near the Guadalquivir River. While the area immediately surrounding the hotel can feel a bit deserted, NH Plaza de Armas offers a great value for a comfortable property with modern rooms and facilities, including a rooftop pool. Double Standard and Superior Rooms, along with Junior Suites, are bright and sophisticated, though some of the furniture is a little scuffed. Business travelers have the advantage here, with brightly-lit meeting rooms and a well-equipped business center.
Scene
Low-key and modern look with a small rooftop pool area
While the outside looks a bit like an office building, the hotel overall has a low-key, stylish look throughout the lobby and restaurant, with a neutral palette accenting the velvety couches, marble floors and round, modern light fixtures. The understated grays and tans in the lobby are punctuated by a large mural that looks like a black and red folding fan. The rectangular rooftop pool is backed by a wall of light-blue tile, though the surrounding artificial-turf area is a bit cramped. The rest of the hotel has a relaxed and quiet atmosphere.
Location
In a quiet area between the river and historic center
The hotel is in a quiet area near the Plaza de Armas Bus Station and within a 10- to 15-minute walk of main shopping streets and the historic center of Seville, where visitors can find Seville Cathedral, the wooden Metropol Parasol, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Guadalquivir River is a couple of blocks away and there's a walking path alongside it. Right by the hotel is a shopping center located in an old train station, with various bars, restaurants, retail spaces, and a movie theater.
Rooms
Well-appointed, modern rooms with small bathrooms
NH Plaza's 262 air-conditioned rooms, including suites, are clean and modern (if slightly worn), with hardwood floors and simple wooden furniture as well as black and white patterned armchairs. Beds in Standard Rooms back into a recessed part of the walls, while Superior units have gray panels with shiny, modern light fixtures behind the beds. Bathrooms are on the small side, with glass-walled shower/tub combos and vanities with semi-opaque lacquer countertops. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and hairdryers. Non-standard rooms have coffee- and tea-making facilities.
Features
Buffet breakfast, rooftop pool, and meeting rooms
The hotel restaurant serves a well-stocked buffet breakfast for an additional fee and there’s a narrow rooftop pool with a small artificial-turf area for sunbathing. There are several brightly-lit meeting rooms decorated with backlit geometric panels and set up with long gray tables and chairs and projection screens. The business center has a desktop computer and printer. NH Plaza doesn’t provide parking, but a public parking area next to the hotel offers guest discounts.
