The sleek, stylish rooms are large with rainfall showerheads, robes, and minibars, in

there is street noise in some. Free Wi-Fi is available, but parking is

Scene
An upscale hotel with an exceptional rooftop terrace
From tall archways to Ionic columns to
slick black tile floors, the Hotel Fontecruz Sevilla has a modern, upscale feel with vintage accents. Purple pillows accent yellow tufted couches and antique-style black
chairs decorate the lobby, while the artwork around the hotel is classically
Spanish. The building is a restored 16th-century palace -- some features, like the carved wooden ceiling in the
lobby, hint at the building's past. Original brick in the 15th-century cellar adds
character to the spa area, and the restaurant features lovely arches and
columns with nice wood tables and floors. Old black-and-white Hollywood
photographs decorate the common areas.
Skylights add a lot of natural light to the interior seating area and there are
free newspapers. Many guests mention, however, that the rest of the hotel -- including
the rooms -- is dim. A wonderful rooftop terrace has a bar and views of Giralda
with white tables, heating lamps, and faux grass carpeting. There is a relaxed, upscale vibe to this hotel.
Location
In Santa Cruz and the historical center, surrounded by numerous attractions
The Hotel Fontecruz Sevilla is nestled in Santa Cruz and the historical
center of Seville. Bars, shops, cafes, and restaurants are
within walking distance, as are Giralda, Alcazar, the Seville Cathedral, and
public transportation. The Sevilla Airport is a 17-minute drive from the hotel
and the train station is nine minutes away.
Rooms
Contemporary rooms with lots of square footage and nice extras
Large rooms echo the same sleek style of the common areas and include old black-and-white Hollywood photographs
on the walls. All of the furniture pieces are updated antiques including the white desks,
purple armchairs, and bedside tables. Shades of purple can also be found in the bed
runners and pillows, while black tile runs throughout. Some rooms have charming features like Ionic columns and arches, while others have balconies with views
of the street or pool. Additionally, suites include extra square footage
and seating areas in addition to gorgeous antique wood ceilings. Flat-screen
TVs, air-conditioning, and minibars are standard, while upgraded rooms also have
coffeemakers. Bowl sinks, that come in pairs, have magnifying mirrors above, and black tile covers the entire bathrooms. Rainfall showerheads are in all
shower/tub combos; some bathrooms have separate walk-in showers and large soaking tubs. Gilchrist & Soames amenities are standard, as are bathrobes and
slippers. Some guests remark on the dim lighting of the rooms though, and the
loud street noise at night.
