Bright guest rooms are done up in well-kept classic decor, and all include flat-screen TVs, minibars, and air-conditioning. Some add private terraces or balconies, and all are quiet. The pretty rooftop terrace offers gorgeous city views, and features a cocktail bar and hot tub. A continental breakfast buffet is served here daily, but this costs extra. Scene
Family-run boutique hotel with a classical music theme, housed in an 18th-century townhouse
The hotel is located on a quiet pedestrian alleyway, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Seville's main streets. A red carpet leads to the doorway of the beautiful 18th-century townhouse, and once inside, guests enter into an elegant lobby with marble-finish floors, white walls, and high ceilings. The hotel has a classical music theme, with string instruments hanging from the walls, and a baby piano sitting between Moroccan lanterns, mismatched antique-inspired furnishings, and Moorish mosaic tiles. Potted plants and flowers add an indoor/outdoor feel in the central patio and atrium, and a glass-walled elevator takes guests to higher floors. The rooftop terrace is a popular place for guests to congregate throughout the day, particularly at breakfast or as the sun goes down. It has a peaceful, away-from-it-all atmosphere, offering stunning views of the city, including the Giralda Bell Tower. The hotel sees a broad range of guests come through its doors, most of whom are tourists.
Location
In the historic center of the Santa Cruz neighborhood, close to shops and attractions
Hotel Amadeus is situated on Calle Farnesio, a narrow pedestrian-only alleyway in the historic center of Seville's Santa Cruz neighborhood. It can be quite tricky to find, and parking is notoriously difficult in central areas of the city, but off-site parking is available just a few blocks away. The location is ideal for tourists exploring the city by foot, as it's within easy walking distance to numerous shops, bars, restaurants, and attractions. Seville Cathedral, Alcazar Palace, and Jardines de Murillo are a 10-minute walk from the hotel, while Casa de Salinas is right next door. La Carboneria, Seville's famous flamenco hall, is just across the street, and the Aire de Sevilla hammam is around the corner. Santa Justa Station is a 10-minute drive or 20-minute walk, while Seville's airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.
Rooms
Bright, individually decorated rooms with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi
All 30 rooms at Hotel Amadeus are individually designed, each named after a famous classical composer. All are centered around a bright glass-roofed atrium, with some offering additional private terraces or balconies. Entry-level rooms are a bit cramped, so guests with a lot of luggage might prefer to upgrade to a Superior Room or Suite. Hardwood floors and white walls create a fresh feel, while mahogany furnishings and traditional wooden shutters add an Old-World element. Double or twin beds are dressed in white Egyptian cotton bedding, and flat-screen TVs, DVD players, minibars, phones, laptop safes, and air-conditioning come standard in all rooms. Marble-finish bathrooms are simple and clean, with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, toiletries, and robes. Some bathrooms add hydro-massage bath tubs. One quirk: the hotel still uses metal keys, which guests find either cumbersome or charming. And given it's slightly-off-the-beaten-path setting, the rooms stay fairly quiet at night -- not a given in Seville's historic center.
Features
Rooftop terrace with hot tub, chic cocktail bar, music rooms, and free Wi-Fi
Hotel Amadeus offers guests some attractive facilities, especially for a historic three-pearl property. The rooftop terrace is a tranquil place to unwind after a long day exploring the city, decorated with potted plants and wrought-iron furniture. Beverages and snacks are available at the cocktail bar throughout the day, and there's a hot tub offering stunning city views. Lunch and dinner are not available, but a continental breakfast buffet is served on the rooftop for a fee. The buffet has no cooked options, but guests can choose from fresh fruits, pastries, breads, jams, cheeses, juice, tea, and coffee. There's a computer station in the main building, and several soundproofed music rooms with a variety of instruments for guests to try. A glass-walled elevator provides access for disabled guests, and free tea and orange wine is available in the lobby. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. The hotel has no on-site parking, but off-site parking is available for a fee. Keep in mind that central Seville is not easy to navigate with a car.
