The reception area looks like a luxurious mountain lodge, with stained wood walls, a stone front desk, and a fireplace with wood-carved bears resting on the mantle. The antler chandeliers and giant dinosaur skull on the ceiling are unique touches, while the dark leather chairs and coffee and tea provide a homey, welcoming atmosphere. But the only time guests would primarily come here is to check in and out. Guests also have access to the Chalet Village Club House, which has a very family-friendly atmosphere where both kids and adults can play and socialize with other guests.

The accommodations here are true cabins, with logs notched and overlapping at the structure's corners. Inside, knotted wood plans are everywhere -- the ceilings, the walls, the stair banisters. The fireplaces have stone surrounds. Each cabin has its own unique characteristics. Most have large, wraparound balconies with outdoor furniture and sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains. These roomy spaces are fully furnished with comfortable, rustic furniture and range from one to 15 rooms.
