The 158-room Resort at
Governor’s Crossing is an upper-middle-range condo-style property with a lively
atmosphere that includes indoor and seasonal outdoor water parks. Modern but bland condos have full kitchens, jetted tubs, and
flat-screen TVs, and some have washer/dryers, balconies with nature views, and
fireplaces. However, some have tube-style TVs and only limited housekeeping is
provided -- daily service costs extra. A fitness center, free outdoor parking, and
free Wi-Fi are offered, but there is no on-site restaurant. The resort is geared towards families with kids, but it is outside of Pigeon Forge proper. For a kid-friendly budget spot right in Pigeon Forge, try the Clarion Inn, which has a waterslide and can be cheaper, though there are outside noise issues.
Scene
Simple, modern property with a vibrant and fun atmosphere
The Resort at Governor's Crossing has a traditional tan and white exterior with a green roof. Flower beds, bushes, and a large lawn make up the well-maintained grounds. Indoors, there's a contemporary lobby with brown tile, a large chandelier, and nature-inspired artwork on the walls. A lovely stone fireplace sits in front of a cluster of contemporary furniture and marble-topped coffee tables. The property caters to families and there's a lively atmosphere throughout.
Location
Outside of Pigeon Forge, near The Tanger Outlets
The Resort at Governor’s
Crossing is off the main stretch of Collier Drive. There is an Applebee's just outside, and a Walmart Supercenter a four-minute drive away for any forgotten items. The Tanger Outlets and NASCAR
Speedpark Smoky Mountains are about a 15-minute walk, or just two minutes by car. The main attractions in Pigeon Forge require a car to reach, and WonderWorks, the Titanic
Museum, and the Hollywood Wax Museum are a five-minute drive from the resort. Dollywood and the
Sevierville Convention Center are a 10-minute drive from the property, while the
McGhee Tyson Airport is 45 minutes away. Local trolley service is another way to get around the area. Parking is free at the hotel.
Rooms
Condo-style units with full kitchens and jetted tubs
Each of the 158 rooms are condos, with configurations ranging from Studios to Three-Bedroom Condos. The style is contemporary, but bland, with brown leather couches, mid-tone wood furniture, and nature-inspired artwork. Most units have laundry facilities hidden in a closet. All have a full kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, stove, full-size refrigerator, coffeemaker, and toaster. Brown and green
striped carpet and multicolored, earth-tone bedspreads decorate the spacious bedrooms (though beds in Studios share space with the living area). Some have gas fireplaces, balconies with nature views, and
multiple bathrooms. Most condos have 32-inch flat-screen TVs while
some have tube-style TVs. Limited daily housekeeping is provided (fresh towels
and trash takeout) but full housekeeping costs extra. Traditional bathrooms are
covered in tan tile with cream walls and white countertops. White shower/tub combos have jetted tubs and bar soap is provided. Some rooms have distant views of the Great Smoky Mountains and others overlook the hotel's water park.
Features
Indoor and (seasonal) outdoor waterparks plus game room, mini-golf, and playground
The vast majority of guests here are families booking rooms for access to the indoor and outdoor
water parks which include five pools, two hot tubs,
waterslides, a sauna, and a 250-foot lazy river between them. The indoor pool has a mushroom-shaped fountain, water volleyball area, a small splash
pad, two waterslides, and brightly colored chairs for seating. The outdoor pool has a shooting fountain and mushroom-shaped fountain adjacent to a hot tub with blue tile, a waterslide, and red and blue
seating throughout. Free lifejackets are provided for children. The outdoor water park is only open seasonally. The hotel has other kid-friendly features like a playground with climbing features in the shape of a pirate ship plus
a small, nine-hole mini-golf course. An indoor game room has air hockey and arcade machines.Adults can use the cardio machines plus a weight machine
in the small fitness center. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, though past guests have complained that the signal is weak, especially on higher floors. One major downside here is lack of a restaurant or breakfast.
