This Holiday Inn caters to business travelers, but is also popular with tourists largely because of its location a few blocks from some of the city’s big attractions, including the Space Needle, the Pacific Science Center, the Experience Music Project, and the Key Arena. The 196 rooms have basic decor but are clean and bright. There’s a decent restaurant on-site that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a small gym, and standard business amenities, including free Wi-Fi. It’s worth comparing rates with some non-chain hotels that have a little more personality, such as the Mediterranean Inn.
Scene
Business atmosphere with some modern, homey touches
The Holiday Inn's proximity to the Space Needle and other tourist attractions makes it popular with vacationers, although the atmosphere is decidedly businesslike. Business facilities include a large executive lounge set up with a long table and couches and two desktop workstations. The rest of the hotel has a modern, homey atmosphere. There's a fireplace in the lobby next to a cluster of velvety couches and armchairs, with a gold, red, and black modern rug at the center. There's a second, more private seating area by a decorative rock wall. The Emerald Grill, the hotel's restaurant, has lime green walls and modern pendant light fixtures, providing a fun, casual spot for a leisurely breakfast or quick dinner.
Location
On a quiet South Lake Union street, a few blocks from the Seattle Center
The hotel is on a quiet street in the South Lake Union, off the small Denny Park. The hotel is 15 minutes from the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. Pike Place Market is about a 20-minute walk, or 10 minutes on public transportation. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel without traffic.
