Le Spiagge San Pietro is an upscale, family-friendly resort with many recreation areas and near a white sandy beach. There’s an entertainment staff that organizes games and activities for two age groups: 3 to 12 and 12 to 18. The hotel also provides babysitting services for a fee and has a dedicated children's area in the buffet restaurant. The big outdoor pool area has a separate, smaller children’s pool near a grassy playground, which has a swing set, slide, and roundabout.

Pullman Timi Ama Sardegna

Pullman Timi Ama Sardegna claims five-pearl status, but it is more accurately a four-pearl property due to its dated room decor and lack of certain luxury features. Still, the hotel offers a kids’ and teens’ clubs, a large outdoor pool surrounded by loungers and palm trees, and a nearby beach nearby with large pillow-like loungers and cabanas for guests. Free Wi-Fi, free parking, and numerous on-site dining options (all with indoor and outdoor seating) are additional perks.

Families and couples alike are attracted to the casual elegance of Hotel Club Baia del Porto. The three-pearl hotel on the northeast coast has 77 rooms and 12 cottages; all come with mini-fridges, small flat-screen TVs, and furnished outdoor spaces. Parco Blu Club Hotel Resort

Cala Gonone, Dorgali, Sardinia

The Parco Blu Club is a three-pearl resort in the center of Cala Gonone, seven minutes’ walk from the beach. Many travelers who can look past the hotel’s dated (and sometimes spartan) decor find it an ideal spot for a family vacation. Features include a multi-purpose sports court and a children’s playground, plus an animation team to keep kids entertained throughout the day. There is also a swimming pool with a shallow children’s section and lovely views of the surrounding landscape and sea. The 70 rooms are rather bare and Singles are small, but they come with flat-screen TVs, balconies (some unfurnished), and mini-fridges. The restaurant serves buffet-style meals, including a free breakfast.

The upper-middle-range Casa Rosa Hotel is a solid option for families and couples who want spacious rooms and low rates near the beach. The 125 rooms and suites are bright and cheerful, and most have sweeping views of the sea. The hotel has a lush garden, and there’s ample room for lounging in the large main pool or the kids' pool. There are bicycles to rent, a tennis court, soccer fields, a playground, and a long lineup of activities and entertainment for adults and kids that includes windsurfing, scuba diving, aerobics, and dancing on the beach. This budget-friendly, all-inclusive chain resort is set up like a village with 148 airy, spacious (but extremely basic) guest rooms. The hotel has manicured lawns and a white-sand beach with a bar and lounge chairs with umbrellas for guests. There is a big outdoor pool and a children’s pool, and the restaurant serves a free breakfast buffet (an area of the dining room is set off for children). Eden Village's staff organizes kid-friendly entertainment for two age groups (3 to 12 and 12 to 18), and there is also a kids' club with a foosball table. Babysitting services are available for a fee. Note that there are fees for card access to the pool and recreation areas, as well as for beach chairs.
