The Park Hotel Resort, with peaceful ocean breezes and sounds courtesy of the nearby private Cala Bitta beach, has all the basic amenities expected at a mid-range Costa Smeralda hotel that is geared toward families. Rooms here -- both dated and not particularly large -- are a bit of a letdown, but the available features make this property standout. It includes an outdoor pool, a playground, an on-site restaurant, and beach access. A small path from the 80-room hotel leads to the secluded beach, where slightly worn beach chairs are available to guests. The beautiful beach town of Arzachena is a 10-minute drive away and the Porto Cervo nightlife scene is about 20 minutes by car.
Scene
This mid-size family hotel on the water has an outdated look.
The wicker furniture and lack of interior decorating touches in the Park Hotel Resort lobby are reflective of the overall decor (clean, but sparse) of the property, including rooms and common areas. Yet the hotel offers many features, and thus attracts largely families who don't mind a little wear and tear for reasonable rates and direct beach access.
Location
Centrally located on the Gulf of Arzachena
Italy's Baja Sardinia is comprised of scenic bays, coves, and beaches. Near the popular tourist attraction of Costa Smeraldo, or the Emerald Coast, Baja Sardinia is a convenient car ride to some of the best known beaches in the vicinity like Pevero beach, which is 15 minutes away. The Park Hotel Resort is a 40-minute drive to the Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport. Porto Cervo, built as a playground and vacation getaway for the elite, is a 13-minute car ride away and is home to numerous restaurants, shops, bars, and clubs.
Rooms
Rooms are spacious and bright, but dated (although they do have flat-screen TVs).
Rooms at the Park Hotel Resort lack modern design and features, but include standard conveniences such as AC, mini-fridges, and safes. Large windows and salmon-colored walls make the space feel bright and airy, but decor is minimal and dated; picture tiled floors, bare walls, old wooden furniture with stenciled designs, and drab comforters.Sea View, De Luxe and Interconnecting rooms all have gorgeous views of the bay, and many have balconies. De Luxe rooms also come with bathrobes, Italian newspapers, patio breakfast service, and charming hammocks on the balconies overlooking the bay.
Features
A convenient hotel meal plan and seasonal childcare program are nice perks.
Guests can book their reservations with Bed and Breakfast, Half Board or Full Board meal plans. The meal plans offer authentic Sardinian dishes and special seafood menus. The food at the on-site hotel restaurant, however, receives mixed reviews. The hotel features numerous outdoor activities, such as a modern pool, tennis courts, and a playground. The hotel also has an adult-supervised childcare program at an additional cost. During certain months there is a Kids Club for children between the ages of 4 to 8 years old. There is no gym.
