Upgrades include jetted tubs, living spaces, and marina views. The hotel has its own private beach a short, free boat ride away, plus there's a pleasant outdoor pool on-site. However, there's no spa and the gym is just a handful of equipment outside. Visitors have access to tennis courts a short walk away. Scene
Beachy, traditional Sardinian style and peaceful atmosphere
Despite being a part of the Sheraton brand, there's nothing chain-like about this hotel. Cervo Hotel is designed in a traditional Sardinian style, consisting of lots of terra-cotta tiling, distressed wood furniture, and mostly neutral hues with pops of blue or seafoam green. Mirrors adorned in seashells, bowls with shells on tables, and freeform wood benches provide charming, natural touches. Walls are whitewashed throughout, from the lobby, to the guest rooms, to the hotel bar, giving spaces a bright and airy feel. The understated yet elegant decor may feel a bit too simple for some, especially for the room rate. Nevertheless, the peaceful atmosphere and great location are often enough for the vacationing couples who typically stay here.
Location
Central location close to the marina, shops, and restaurants
One of Cervo Hotel's greatest assets is its central location within a short walk of all that busting Porto Cervo's Piazzetta has to offer. There's a seemingly endless array of high-end designer shops, bars, and restaurants in the immediate area, as well as a marina and museum. However, there's no beach within a short walking distance, so most guests opt for the free boat shuttle that goes to the hotel's private stretch of beach. The Olbia Costa Smeralda airport is a 35-minute drive away.
Rooms
Charming rooms with comfy beds and minibars
Guest rooms are done in the same charming Sardinian style found throughout the property. Distressed light-wood furniture, terra-cotta tiling, white linens, and embroidered accents create an elegant, airy look. However, some may find the design a bit too simple for a hotel of this caliber. Also on the downside, lower-category units are on the small side -- think 18 square meters (194 square feet). Still, amenities are sufficient, consisting of free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, minibars, work desks, and flat-screen TVs. Wardrobes come with electronic safes, plus bathrobes and slippers are provided. Furnished balconies vary in size and view, with some overlooking the marina. Bathrooms have colorful tiles -- teal, blue, or reddish, for instance -- on half the walls, and shower/tub combos in most. Hairdryers and a range of toiletries come standard. Some upgraded rooms add jetted tubs and living spaces.
Features
Free shuttle to private beach, well-sized pool, and free breakfast at restaurant
Though not on-site, Cervo Hotel has a private stretch of beach with sunbeds that's reached via a free boat shuttle. For those who don't want to leave the property for a dip, there's a well-sized outdoor pool surrounded by ample padded loungers under straw umbrellas. Off to one side is the gym, which is actually just a handful of equipment and free weights outside. Another con is the lack of spa facilities. Guests do get free access to nearby tennis courts. All rates include a tasty breakfast buffet with hot and cold items, The restaurant serves tasty Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, and al fresco seating is available here and at the bar. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
