The 222-room, upper-mid-range Lido Beach Resort is located on Lido Key on the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Sarasota. A family-friendly property, the hotel has multiple pools, a beachfront tiki bar, and a restaurant atop the eighth floor of the tower. Rates are variable depending on room size (two-bedroom suites cost quite a bit more), but are reasonable for the area.

The Lido Beach Resort makes use of a gorgeous stretch of white-sand beach near Sarasota, and is within walking distance to St. Armand’s Circle, a lushly landscaped shopping, dining, and entertainment district. The hotel is undergoing a complete room renovation, and meanwhile still caters to families. There are two pools (one is adults-only), as well as a tiki-style beach bar, and a restaurant atop the eighth-floor with panoramic views. A manmade mini-river surrounded by tropical landscaping runs throughout the grounds, and there's a bridge (and gazebo) connecting one side of the property to the other. The beach and lagoon-style pool areas have many lounge chairs and places to relax with a view.

Set on private beach on Lido Key in the Gulf of Mexico, the Lido Beach Resort is about a half-mile (about six blocks) from the shops and cafés of St. Armand’s Circle -- including fun, beach-style restaurants that are great for groups and families. Guests can walk to St. Armand's Circle or take the free shuttle from the hotel. The hotel is located about three miles from downtown Sarasota’s shopping and dining scene -- best reached by car. The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is less than seven miles away.

Spacious, comfortable rooms are simple.
Room sizes range from standard studios to multi-bedroom suites. Rooms have simple tile floors, white bedding, and beach landscape artwork on the walls. Some rooms have kitchenettes and others have full kitchens. Rooms with kitchens have a two-burner stove, mid-size refrigerator, small dishwasher, cooking utensils, and a kitchen table. Rooms in the taller tower have better views than those in the older shorter part of the building. Some rooms have private balconies, while others have shared balconies.

The poolside tiki bar offers tropical drinks and views of Gulf Coast sunsets. There are two swimming pools, and on-site activities include surfing, sea kayaking, and snorkeling (equipment available for rent). There’s a 24-hour gym and business center, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. There are laundry machines on-site that are available for guest use.
