Bottom Line

The 25-room Villa Manos is a mid-range hotel offering a quiet, friendly atmosphere in a location convenient to traveling the island of Santorini by car, as there’s little within walking distance. Rooms have more contemporary decor than many of its peers, particularly the modern bathrooms with rainfall showerheads. All rooms include mini-fridges and Wi-Fi is free. A good-sized pool and adjacent bar offer a pleasant spot to relax, while a small indoor restaurant is a convenient alternative to dining out, though no meals are included. Those who prefer to be closer to the conveniences of the city should check out Antonia Hotel Santorini. Though its decor is simpler, it is only a few minutes’ walk to the center of Fira and iconic Santorini views.

Scene

Beachy decor, a family-like atmosphere, and relaxing common areas

This simple hotel appeals mostly to friends and couples traveling together. The three-story, whitewashed building has salmon accents and arched openings for balconies. In front of the building is a quaint terrace housing the pool, bar, and shaded seating. Stone walls and patios together with palm trees, white rustic wood furniture and light linen fabrics create a relaxing gathering spot for guests. The interior common space is a multipurpose room with a reception area, dining tables with a kitchen, and a lounge with a few sofas and a TV. A neutral-color palette, lightbulbs dangling from ropes on the ceiling, and paintings of the ocean continue the beachy feel. Guests consistently mention the helpful and friendly owners.

Location

In a quiet spot with little nearby, though a short drive to Fira and the beach

This hotel is in the central part of Santorini, just off the main road from Fira to the southern side of the island. It is a nine-minute walk from the hotel to an area of Karterados with a few restaurants, a bakery, and a laundromat. It is about a 20-minute walk or a six-minute drive into central Fira, a city with restaurants, shops, and museums, plus stunning views of the caldera at sunset. From the hotel, it is a nine-minute drive to Monolithos Beach with its black sand and shallow waters. A local bus stops on the main road, within a minute’s walk of the hotel. It is a six-minute drive from the hotel to Santorini Airport, and an 18-minute drive to the port.

Rooms

Clean, pleasant rooms with minimalist decor and modern showers

Most rooms have a minimalist design and a neutral palette, but provide the basics needed for a budget-friendly stay. Rustic white wood furniture and white iron bed frames are appealing, but simple rather than elegant. Older rooms have more color in an orange accent wall and pinewood furniture, but their age is evident. All rooms are air-conditioned and have a TV and mini-fridge. Twelve of the rooms have kitchenettes with a sink, but not all provide a stovetop. Most rooms have private balconies. Upgraded rooms offer separate living areas and two bedrooms. Older bathrooms are basic, with a curtained shower stall and pedestal sink. Updated bathrooms are modern and sleek with large doorless showers, rainfall showerheads, and vessel sinks. Rooms do not have a safe or a hairdryer, and toiletries are not provided.

Features

A pool with a wading section, pool bar, and meals for purchase

The medium-size pool has a small wading section for kids and plenty of loungers. A few tables with chairs are shaded under off-white umbrellas. At the far end of the pool, the bar plays music through the day and evening. There's also a small terrace with more tables and chairs separate from the pool, offering a quieter spot to sit amongst the trees and flowers. Meals are available, and guests particularly enjoy breakfast, though none are included in the room cost. Transport is available to and from the hotel for a fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
