The Belvedere Santorini has a fantastic cliffside location in Firostefani, hanging over the Aegean with views of the coast that’s dotted in whitewashed buildings. A 15-minute walk down a coastal pathway leads to the cafes, shops, galleries, and restaurants in Fira, and it's a 20-minute walk to the Museum of Prehistoric Thira. The coastal route also leads to Oia -- known for its sunsets -- but the trek can take upwards of two hours. This side of the island, with jagged cliffs, isn’t known for its sandy shores, but guests are granted access to a private beach at the Santo Miramare Resort, a half-hour car ride away. The drive to the Santorini Airport takes 20 minutes.

It's surrounded by a deck with dining tables and lounge chairs. The infinity-edge pool bar features lovely archways and cocktails; light meals, and wine are served here along with a free breakfast in the morning, but there's no full restaurant. Stylishly furnished in light-colored contemporary furniture, the wine cellar in the basement is a cozy atmosphere for tastings. The 24-front desk service can arrange airport transfers or boat trips.
