The Gen Suite & Spa Hotel is a modern "green" high-rise hotel located near Santiago's financial district, offering free breakfast, meeting space, and a wellness spa. The sustainable structure was originally designed as apartments, which means that the lobby was not meant to accommodate hordes of people coming and going every day. The downside of this is that check-in can take some time, but it also means that all rooms -- even standard -- come equipped with separate sitting areas and kitchens. Decor consists of red and black furnishings that look straight out of IKEA, and balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of natural light. The terrace and outdoor pool boast incredible views of the skyline and distant mountains -- a great spot for photo ops. The hotel has a green policy, and elements of eco-friendly design, such as solar panels and recycling bins, are seen throughout. The hotel also offers a fitness center, free parking, and Wi-Fi. Prices are fair considering the modern amenities.
Location
Walking distance to the financial district, tourist sites, and Bellavista district nightlife
The immediate vicinity of the hotel is busy, and can create traffic noise for those staying on the lower floors. The actual street is nothing special, and some nearby buildings are dreary, but guests can walk to Nueva Constanera and Plaza de Armas as well as other tourist sites. For colorful streets, culture, and nightlife, the Bellavista district is also nearby. Buses in Santiago are modern and run round-the-clock; alternatively, the metro system has 94 stations. There is a station a five-minute walk from the hotel.- 27-minute drive to Santiago International Airport (Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez)
