This hotel is set in a lovely, beachy, modern white building with wood detailing and a stone wall outside. A pretty selection of cacti, palms, and shrubs makes the MC San José even more inviting, and the hotel backs onto a cheerful garden, full of greenery, trees, and blossoming flowers. The interior is cheerful, too. Shiny tile floors, comfy white couches, and funky lighting make for a pleasant lobby. Thoughtful details include unique sculptures, colorful modern art on the walls, potted plants, and magazines and brochures to peruse. Glass doors let in ample sunlight. The owner of the hotel operates and decorates the place, and the care shows. The vibe is peaceful, pretty, and relaxed.

Five minutes from the beach and the town of San Jose
This chic hotel is located on a wide, mellow road, about a five-minute walk from the stunning, pristine beaches of San José Bay, within the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Protected Natural Area. A walk along the harbor and sea is a pretty magical experience; Monsul Beach and Los Escullos Beach are within walking distance. A shuttle bus brings guests from the front door to nearby beaches. San Jose is a charming, quiet town, and a seven-minute stroll will bring guests to a host of restaurants, shops, and bars.

While decor is sleek but relatively basic in some rooms, in others -- suites, in particular -- it's extremely stylish with attractive wall art, slate bathrooms, and leather accents. Air-conditioning is strong, and free water is provided in a mini-fridge. There are private terraces -- some overlook the sea, while others have a less majestic street view. Free Wi-Fi and large flat-screen TVs are provided in all rooms, and eight rooms open up to private gardens. Bathrooms are roomy, with spacious showers, basic toiletries, and plentiful plush towels.
