Interiors don't wow in terms of decor; it's all fairly chainlike, but common spaces are clean and pleasant. The lobby is clad in lively orange colors that are paired with neutral hues and there are seating clusters on sofa in front of a flat-screen TV or curled into an armchair with a book from one of the hotel's shelves. There's free coffee and tea on hand, an inviting touch. Still, drop ceilings detract from the overall sense of style. Many guests choose to stay here due to the hotel's proximity to the Lackland Air Force Base, and the property attracts families in town for graduation.

The hotel is situated off of Route 90, slightly southwest of San Antonio's city center. There's not much in the immediate area, and guests will need a car to get around. There are a couple of casual dining options (Denny's, Subway, and a Thai spot) about a three-minute drive away. Many guests stay here due to the hotel's proximity to the air force base (which is around a 10-minute drive away) especially for special events like graduation ceremonies. The golf course is about a 10-minute drive from the property. The city center, where guests can find many more dining options, bars, shops, and attractions such as The Alamo, is a 15- to 20-minute drive from the hotel. San Antonio International Airport is a 27-minute drive from the hotel.

Rooms feature a sleek contemporary style clad in neutral hues, with clean-lined dark wood furnishings that include desks with ergonomic chairs, dressers, and large headboards with built-in nightstands. Beds are topped with crisp white linens and plaid-patterned bed runners. All rooms have seating, ranging from armchairs to sofas. Other wellness features include a fitness room that's equipped with a handful of simple cardio and strength-training machines.Though the hotel lacks a restaurant or bar, a free hot breakfast is served daily in a pleasant dining room. A variety of items are served, plus there are make-your-own waffle stations. Other common spaces that guests are welcome to relax in include the lobby, which offers plenty of seating as well as flat-screen TVs and bookshelves lined with paperbacks.
