Bottom Line

The three-pearl Hotel-Pension Bloberger Hof is a family-run, charmingly rustic and romantic hotel on the southern outskirts of
Salzburg. This 22-room property has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere with lovely
views of Austrian farms and the Alps. Rooms are spacious and all have flat-screen TVs, while Superior Rooms, Suites, and the Apartment also have minibars and some have balconies. However, they lack air-conditioning. There's also an on-site restaurant that serves a free breakfast and Austrian and international cuisine for dinner and a nearby bus station that can take guests to the city center in 15 minutes. Travelers looking for an intimate and
romantic hotel closer to the city center may want to check rates at Hotel Am Dom.

Scene

Rustic and romantic hotel with a quiet atmosphere catering mostly to couples

What began in 1930 as a multi-purpose agricultural building in a quiet
farming community right outside of Salzburg has been extended and remodeled by one family into a charming hotel. The golden cottage-like building
rests on lush, green land and has lovely gardens with trees, flowers, and
benches. The traditional charm
extends to the interior of the hotel, with a contemporary country decor of blond wooden furniture
and floral decorations in the lobby. Maroon carpets, taxidermy animals, and
floral pictures decorate the interior hallways. It even has
an elevator, unusual for a small hotel. The restaurant has two rooms with blond wooden chairs, white
tablecloth-covered tables, Austrian-inspired
china on the walls, and chandeliers. Most guests are vacationing couples on a romantic getaway.

Location

In a residential, semi-rural neighborhood, a 15-minute bus ride to central Salzburg

The Hotel-Pension Bloberger Hof is located south of
Salzburg in a quiet residential farming neighborhood. It's close enough to civilization to be easily accessible and sheltered enough from the noises of a city to offer plenty of tranquility. Central Salzburg -- which
includes Old Town, Mozart’s House, and other attractions -- is a 15-minute bus ride from the bus stop located across the street from the hotel. And two nearby Austrian restaurants can be reached in a two-minute walk from the hotel's location.

Rooms

Spacious rooms with wooden furniture and flat-screen TVs; some with balconies and minibars

Rooms at the Hotel-Pension Bloberger Hof have a rural and romantic appeal with a heavy, but tasteful, emphasis on wooden furniture. Decor differs slightly among
rooms, but many rooms have plaid or floral curtains, maroon patterned or striped sofas,
green wall-to-wall carpet or wooden floors, and a variety of floral or country-scene paintings. Superior Rooms, Junior Suites, and the Apartment have extra seating
areas or separate lounge spaces. The Apartment has a kitchenette and two
sleeping areas, while the Junior Suites are spread over two floors. All rooms have flat-screen TVs with Sky and Satellite
TV, safes, and telephones. Some of the higher category rooms have minibars and possibly a balcony
with mountain views. One missing amenity is air-conditioning, though the hotel does provide fans. Bathrooms vary slightly, but most have white wall tiles,
shelves to supplement the limited counter space, showers or shower/tub combos, and
hairdryers.

Features

On-site restaurant that serves a free breakfast and Austrian and international dishes for dinner

The hotel’s best feature is its restaurant, which serves
breakfast and dinner. Breakfast includes cold cuts, cheeses, coffee, cooked-to-order eggs, fresh bread, and jams, and the meal is included in room rates.
Local and international cuisines are served for dinner and prepared with herbs
and spices from the hotel’s garden and produce from local farms and
butchers. Outdoor terrace dining is available in warmer months. The hotel offers free property-wide Wi-Fi and free loaner bikes for exploring the surrounding area. The front desk provides bus tickets, arranges excursions, and even offers
a free Salzburg city tour for guests staying more than five nights. Laundry services are also available for a fee.
